Cody has been red right under his mouth and it looks like his hair in that area is gone to? Has anyone ever had this happen to their dog before. My boyfriend says it looks like it is irritated but I do not know. Should I take him to the vet?

Are you feeding from plastic bowls?

Plastic can cause a reaction in some dogs, and more commonly in cats.

Or, if he's young and if you have ruled out the plastic, you may want the vet to do a skin scraping to rule out demodex. Hope this helps :-)

No I use glass bowls. Thanks for your help. I will have the vet check him out.
