We were driving out in the countryside when my oldest was about 3 and we saw a male horse out in a field with everything hanging out, down to the ground.  My son asked what that was and hubby told him that was his kick stand.  Son said "un un, that's his peenie."    Hubby said, "well, if you knew, why did you ask?"

After reading all you're comments, I am afraid the replies could go either way with this question...

But, here goes... do they smell as bad as those hoof things do when the dogs start chewing on them?  I was tempted to buy a couple bully sticks yesterday at PetSmart but chickened out for fear of the smell.

Also, do they last very long or do they get gobbled up as quick as a rawhide would?

The ones I buy for Bailey never smell bad, I usually buy Merrick but also have ordered the Natures Variety. Bailey prefers the Merrick Brand ones best. One will usually last her nearly a week.

Lynee... on the serious side...
It depends on what brand you buy as to whether or not they stink. I purchase the Nature's Variety brand and they have NO odor at all. Many here use the Merrick brand and they say those don't stink either. I do know the Red Barn brand do smell...
My dogs get one every morning. How fast they chew them up depends on (1) the size of your dog of course... and whether he/she is a "chow hound" or not and (2) the size and thickness of the bully stick.
They are 100% natural and 100% digestible so they are SO much better for our dogs than rawhide is (I never feed rawhide... too risky).
I've also been advised by my vet not to feed the cow hooves...

Yes, I use the Merrick brand (that's the only one our pet store carries) and there's no smell.

Hey, for anyone interested, I did order these and although they do smell (you have to stick your face down to them though) the dogs love them.  I've got 4 dogs to supply bully sticks to (5 once I get a foster) so I need to save money where I can and these seem just fine!

Good to know, MB, thanks! I think I'm already in "my nose doesn't work at all" season, so smelly bully sticks wouldn't bother me anyway right now.

I just got mine yesterday!! They love them and they dont stink that bad...I really dont think they smell much more than the Merrick brand. Such a great deal although I do wish they would have sent me a conformation email...
