after i posted yesterday about joleigh throwing up, she seemed to be feeling better, we even went visit her best friend (my neighbors dog, who just moved a few days ago) and she had no problems, ate fine, i just made sure not to give her any treats or anything out of the ordinary besides her food.  Well needless to say, ive been cleaning up doggy throwup and diarrhea for the last hour. should i be worried?? she's still acting like nothings wrong, being her normal self, maybe sleeping a little bit more.

I would not give her any food. Give her some plain boiled rice or some plain yogurt... small amounts.

yeah ive been reading online for diff ways to treat, it says for her age, don't feed her anything for 12 hours (no water either) and after about the first 6 hours give her a tablespoon of plain yogurt.. does that sound good?

I'm no expert, but that's what the vet has told me to do on occasion when one of my dogs has a problem such as that.
I sure hope she gets better soon!

She's still a puppy, right?  I don't think I'd wait too long to see a vet.  I agree with Nora,  small amounts of bland food for now.  My little Oscar started out that way, diarrhea and some vomitting, but pretty much acting normal.  He took a turn for the worst pretty quickly with a fever and dehydration and needed meds and fluids from the vet.  If she stops eating or drinking, or starts acting differently, please don't hesitate to get her to the vet.  These little ones can go downhill fast.

yeah shes about 14 weeks old, im about to go to the store and get some yogurt and try that... i already mapped out the emergency vet, btu the vet i found for her, i know this sounds weird, but i REALLY don't like them.. they're extermely rude and left us waiting in the waiting room for about a hour and in the room for about another 45 minutes... and the vet was kind of 'rude' because i asked how mcuh her next shots were gonna be (to make sure i save up the money!)

Unfortunately, that doesn't sound weird to me.  I go to one vet for vaccinations and blood tests because they give the 3 year rabies shot,  and another for other treatments.  I can't find a one-size-fits-all vet that I like for everything.  I can understand having to wait if there are emergencies that take priority, but they shouldn't be rude and they shouldn't have any problem answering a simple question about their prices.  I hope Joleigh feels better soon, but if I had to guess, she's got some kind of intestinal bug.  It seems to be going around latey.

I agree it is so difficult to find a good vet. I think I finally have after Amos' last sickness. (We had been to three different vets) This guy has been a vet since 1956 he has loads of experience and treats my babies like they are....well my babies. For anyone in my area his name is Dr Frank Norvell in Mount Orab Ohio I will not go to anyone else he even does house calls for large animals still. I cant thank him enough for saving Amos I sure hope Joleigh gets better soon its so stressful when they are sick.

Hope shes still doing well this morning! I dealt with parvo with Trixi and it just makes me paranoid. Whenever I hear "diarrhea, vomiting and sleepy" I automatically think Parvo, esp. in a young puppy. Its a deadly disease and EXTREMELY contagious. I am so glad youre keeping a close eye. If it doesnt seem to be better today, please consider taking her to the vet. Again, i hope there havent been any more episodes and the yogurt is helping!

here's the update, joleigh has not vomited since yesterday around 3 or 4, btu she has been gagging, at first it was just when she was playing and i thought she was just getting too excited, but then she started waking up... ive had her on eagle watch so i am pretty sure she hasnt gotten into anything she wasnt supposed to... she's holding down food today fine it seems.. and extremely hyper (im assuming because she's feeling better?) oh and also she didn't have dairrhea this morning.

lol yeah the thread would probably be a good idea! anyone know a good one in lafayette?
