I hope Trixi's okay. She should be fine. The bleeding should stop in a couple of minutes.

I've done this before and it's always scary and I always feel so bad.

Well, I felt horrible for her...and then we were also freaking out cause we just got new carpet, luckily its dark brown...I was definitly more concerned about Trixi than the carpet, but it was a side stress!

Maybe it has clotted. Just watch it for a little while to make sure she does not lick it, and it start bleeding again.

I freaked out just a couple of days ago because Cookie snagged her dewclaw...the bleeding was insane. I held a wet paper towel on it for pressure for a while..it stopped and she is just fine. So scary though.

Mary, these things happen, don't let it stop you from cutting their nails. In the future just know it may take a bit to get it to stop. When Jack pulls of a nail I have to hold pressure with a paper towel for a few minutes. Then don't try to clean off the old blood until later or it will start to bleed again, you are wiping off the clot. Give Trixi lots of hugs!

Just get some of the stuff that stops bleeding and have it on hand. Forget what it's called but it works.

For the blood on the carpet, use hydrogen perioxide that should take out the blood!
