Just wondering if any of you run,?  Does your Rat run with you?  Lucky goes with me on my two shorter weekday runs (3 miles or less).  My longer Saturday runs I do not take her on.

Lucky gives me a great workout.  She is actually a Jack/Rat so I am not certain which breed produced the excellent runner that she is.  I love when she looks at me with a smile on her face midway through a run.

SHE IS AN ATHLETE!

I can't run with Cyrus. He bounces too much, and he doesn't more of a prance when he runs and always ends up tripping me. I haven't ran in a long time since I feel so bad about leaving him home while I go out for a "walk". But I've noticed a lot of people running at the dog park since it's just a huge field. I may start doing that since he doesn't have to be on his leash. Then he can stop and go when he wants and I don't have to

I'm not a jogger.  I'm a walker, so my girls get all their running out zooming around the back yard.  How old is Lucky?  I've heard it's not so good to over exercise a young dog, until their bones and joints are fully developed.  Seems like there was a thread in the training forum on this subject last year with some very good info on why it's not good to heavily exercise a younger dog.

We talked about running with ratties on here a couple months ago...  At least, discussed making sure they're old enough before becoming running partners.

I take Rowdy running with me.  We usually run something like 3 miles, a little longer on weekends.  Rowdy LOVES running!  He's a great running partner.  If he gets tired, he'll start to lag a little and then I'll always slow the pace down to a walk.  He goes at a pretty good pace, and I just use the little pee breaks as time to stretch and stay limber.  Out of all three of my dogs, Rowdy's my best running partner right now.  Sam is too old anymore to run for longer distances and Schatzi's not much of a runner.  I like it, too, because he's so calm for a few hours after the run.  I think it helps him stay out of trouble for a while.

He's 4 now, so I don't have any issues with his age or waiting for his bones to develop.

Dottie and I run together at least twice a week. She ran on my short and mi-length runs with me this past winter when I trained for a half-marathon. Her longest run was about 6 miles, but I honestly think she would've gone longer if I let her. I'm a run/walk, Galloway-type gal so we have short 30 second to 1 minute walk breaks.

Now, on days when I just want to walk her, she's tugging at the leash like crazy. I've gotten to where we end our walks in a field where I can take her off-leash and let her do figure eights at full speed.

I'm not a runner but I bicycle and rollerskate (on Quadlines). I just recently started skating outdoors, and I take Henry to this great new park that opened up near us a couple of months ago. It has a smooth, wide, paved path that's 1 mile around, not too hilly, and perfect for Rollerblades or rollerskates. Henry runs along beside me when I skate, and he loves it. We're up to 4 miles. I usually walk him around once first so he can "purge," and I can pick up his poop; it's easier to do this without the skates on. I don't go on weekends, however. Too many toddlers, and I sure don't want to have an accident and hurt someone's child. I love this new park! It seems that rolllerskating and skateboards and those razor things are actually encouraged there. I hope that it stays that way. I'm loving this new activity and so is Henry!

I'm a runner and CoCO comes with me (I'm just not a fast runner). She's always comes with me, because she loves the exercise but as she has gotten older and I've okayed it with the vet, we've started a little longer. We now run two miles about 3 times a week and she loves it. Even when she was younger I would take her for a "run" it was just around the apartment complex as not to stress out her bones, but it really ade her into an awesome running partner as she got older.

I only run if my life is in immediate danger and I'm pretty sure Bob feels that way too.

Awww...I used to be a runner! I did 10k races and all. My chocolate lab (bless her soul) would run with me for the first few miles and then stop at the house while I kept going. I really miss it. Darn rheumatoid arthritis took that away from me also!

Oh well, I enjoy nice walks with Buddy and Dixie now I even have a special "arthritc handled" leash and hook both of 'em up to it. It's like driving a chariot team!

LOL!  I think my BF James and Schatzi share your sentiments!
