If anybody is still feeding any canned or pouched Nutro dog or cat food, Nutro has updated the list of recalled food. It includes some Ultra, Max and Natural Choice foods.  Hard to believe other brands are still being added.

The complete updated recall list is linked.

You mean that they didn't let us know at the first what was being recalled! This is getting to be too much! How many more pets and people are going to be hurt by this?!

Nutro I think just added some more of the same products that were originally recalled. So if people are still feeding it because the dates and product codes were not on the original recall list, then they may be on the list now. From what I've seen, one other Menu plant just recently learned that they got a shipment of the bad wheat gluten from the plant that the problem originated from. This is all so much bs because they still haven't agreed what exactly the problem is or if there were multiple problems. One report I saw said that the melamine was added on purpose to boost the protein level.

Pami, Menu foods does not make any dry food. If the food you are using does not have wheat gluten in it, you should be safe.

I would think Petco might have Natural Balance and Canidae lists one womans name as a retailer in Gadsden. But I don't think Menu has anything to do with making any dry food, but I could be wrong. Most companies make their own dry and if you're satisfied with Nutro, and if they don't use wheat gluten, I would assume that it is safe. My personal experience is that Lucky just wasn't crazy about the taste. I couldn't stand it when he would sniff the bowl and look up at me like "what, this again?" when I set it in front of him.

After seeing the results on Lucky with lo carb foods(6 pound loss), I think I'll stick to grainless foods for awhile to see if he'll get below 20lbs. He's around 22 now.

Dry Nutro has no wheat gluten in it. http://www.nutroproducts.com/mfrecall.asp

Pami - I found some Nature's Balance at Petland here. I'm going to mix it in with their Nutro because it's expensive AND they love it so much they'll eat a lot and gain too much weight! I got them the Duck & Potato but next time I'm trying the Venison and Sweet Pea!

My brother- in-law's dog became deathly sick after eating a dog treat, dry biscuit from Ingles.  The Ingles brand is Laura Lynn and although the canned food was recalled the dry dog biscuits were not.  they don't have wheat gluten but their dog almost died.  Also, their vet said that since they have been there, he has had several other dogs come in with the same symptoms and all had eaten these dog treats.

I'm scared of everything now!!!  I've been feeding Tinkerbelle my Easter Eggs, but now they are a week old, so I guess I need to boil some more!

Thanks Deb. I just saw this and I know we have talked about it before but I just freak out on occasion...

I feed Chicken Soup For the Dog Lover's Soul. What a difference it has made to Annie's coat. You may want to 'google' foods and do a locator thing. I get my food from my feed store and not a pet store. It is just my little way to avoid buying from stores that sell animals.

When is this ever going to stop? You hear nothing anymore about this on the news.
