Help, my 1 yr old rattie, Violet, can clear a room.  She had gas real bad as a young pup but it is back.
I do know that I gave her some new treats to try and help keep her attention at aglitiy class, but man alive (or dead if the smell keeps up).

Someone suggested cottage cheese, (low fat) and Violet gets 1 teaspoon full every day but it is not working now.

Any suggestions, Violet is even noticing that the smell is coming from her butt.

Thanks.

Some dogs' tummies don't agree with dairy products. Is it possible that the cottage cheese could be causing it? What kind of food are you feeding her?

She eats Purina one mostly. I have tried the expense kind from the pet store but she got really sick on that. I forget which one it was, I think Nature something.
The gas just started the last two days.
It is funny watching her look at her own butt when a bad one comes.
Good thing she is really cute.

I feel Purina One to Cyrus, too. And I tried the Nature whatever it is and didn't like it. I don't know. I really do think they might just be gassy dogs. I heard Bostons and Boxers are the WORST though. So I guess we should consider ourselves lucky!

Purina One is a low quality food, lots of corn in it, poulty by-product, corn gluten, brewer's rice.  She may be allergic to the corn but regardless I'd switch to a high quality food.

My ratties aren't gassy unless I give them something like brussel sprouts....my whippet has more gas than the ratties do.

My dogs both came to me on Purina One, gassy as all heck! Switched them to a high quality food and it has totally gone unless they have been stealing food from the kids. They are on a food with no grains now and that really seems to do the trick.
