ok i'm really worried right now. my dog just ate a whole bunch of spicy pork rinds off the floor. it's a long story but i'll try to write it out.

my pendejo parents got into an argument, my drunk baby dad made a mess in the kitchen and we just left it there so when he would wake up tomorrow he would feel dumb.

anyways, a few hours later, my sister comes into my room, takes my dog from my lap and goes pets him for a little while. then she, without thinking (i dont even know if she has a brain in there), puts him on the ground and he's over there having a little feast w/spicy pork rinds. when i heard some crunching in the kitchen, i ran over and picked him up. he seemed a little bloated and i'm just wondering if it's safe for him to eat those?

is the worse he can have be diarrhea and an indigestion or something?

"Ingredients: Pork Rinds, Salt, Spices, Maltodextrin, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Onion and Garlic Powder, Dextrose, Hydrolyzed Soy and Corn Protein, Monosodium Glutamate, Yellow No. 5 and 6 Lake, Caramel Color, Spice Extractives, Soy Sauce (Wheat, Soybeans)."

Geez, humans eat some gross stuff!  Look at all the ingredients in there that if they were in a dog food we wouldn't feed it to our dogs!

Onion is very bad for dogs, does something to the red blood cells but not sure how much of that he would have gotten.....all that salt is horrible for him....how many of these did he eat?  I'm not a vet but I would guess he'll just some diarhea, maybe vomiting but you might want to call the vet and ask.  Then again some dogs have iron tummies and he may not have any symptoms at all.

That can't be good for him at all. I hope like MB says he has an iron stomach and will be okay. If not I think I would make your sister clean it up since she took him from your lap and then put him on the floor. I wish you luck but with ratties in the house it is best to go ahead and clean up any messes so they can't get it. Just for safety sakes if no other reason.

Well so far he hasn't thrown up at all or had diarrhea in his bed. I'm sure he would have had to go by now, right? I think he has an iron stomach.... knock on wood

According to my vet, dogs have fairly sensitive stomach linings (unlike ours). Their intestinal tract is stough as nails, but not their stomachs. Dog simply don't do well with spices, especiall red or black pepper. He'll either throw it all up or if he has a tougher stomach than most dogs, he'll have a a bad case of diarrhea until it has all passed out of his system.

what if he's had/done neither by now...? yesterday he did poop a little strange but it was all still solid and defined, unlike diarrhea that's just a splat on the ground... i'm relieved but worried at the same time...

I'm sure he's OK then. It has been two days. You can stop worrying now.
