Ok, Amos has had an upset stomach pretty much since he came to us 2 weeks ago.  The vet checked him Wed and he has coccydia in his gut.  He's had 3 days of meds and his stool is much better.  Tonight, he threw up his supper on my bed.  This is 2 hours or more after he ate and the food is completely undigested.  He threw up a second time before I decided to move him off the bed.  Then he threw up again in the kitchen.  I'm planning on letting his gut rest, until tomorrow morning.  He has water available and is sound asleep right now.  Should I wake him and give him a dose of Pepto?  How much?  He weighs 4lbs 12oz.  Our vet is closed on Sat but they do have emergency on call if needed.  I'm hoping that he'll be better.

YUCK!  Before I could send this post, he's puked again!  I've given 2ml's of Pepto.  He's hungry, and kept trying to eat what he'd just chucked.
Sometimes dogs can really be gross.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your quick response. I will watch him closely. It is amazing how quickly this pup has wiggled his way into my heart. He's soooo sweet that I just don't want anything to happen to him. I just realized it's been almost 10years since I've had a young puppy and I'm a little rusty on what they need. Sure am glad I found this site to help me get through these first few weeks.

Poor baby! Just make sure he has lots of water. Maybe a little yogurt, pumpkin, (canned, not pie mix), or just bland white rice. That might help.

I understand about yogurt.(don't have any in the house) and rice, but never heard of feeding a pup pumpkin. I have some frozen in the freezer that I use when I fix our birds muffins(they eat a lot healthier than we do) I will put some out to thaw, and I will boil him some rice for tomorrow. He's not gonna get anything but water tonight though. He's sound asleep in my lap now.

Hopefully the rice and/or pumpkin will help Amos get his tummy soothed and not feel so hungry.  Poor little guy.
