Question! My little new guy limps (slightly)...has since I brought him home. It is almost as though he has one front leg shorter than the other? No obvious discomfort and does NOT slow him down! LOL!

He is very short-legged (Teddy or Jack)......anyway, should I have him Xrayed, or forget about it since he is not in obvious pain???

Anyone see this in these little guys?

Remember...I am a big ole Lab person...when THEY limp, it's off to the vet ASAP! ;-)

Thanks! Lady Di and the YogiBear

Mocha has one rear leg that is shorter than the others. It is very noticeable...her hip muscle is not as developed on that side also. I would probably have the vet look at it and see what they think. Mocha's foster mom had her x-rayed by two different vets, and that is what they determined from the x-ray. It doesn't slow her down at all either and she has no pain. She does get a little off balance sometimes.

Thanks All! Vet has been closed thru the Holidays...and I am going out of town in a few days for over a week.
I will have it checked if he can get in before I leave...I want him "chipped" as soon as poss anyway. If I cannot get an appointment this week, will have to wait til mid Jan. when I return.

I have called the rescue group who I adopted him from and asked about their vet...and they stated no limp was noticed? I am now wondering about that. He WAS thrown over a 12' fence! HELLO!?! That HAD to hurt....!!!!

I have heard of limps in these small dogs but most are attributed to the knee displacement....don't sense that is the case here.

Thanks!!! Di (andThe YogiBear)

Let us know what the vet says! Poor little guy - thrown over a 12' fence??
And don't you love these rescue groups that don't "notice" things?! My little Skipper has a collapsed trachea yet the rescue group I got him from never "noticed" a cough....

I would almost be willing to be when the do was thrown over that 12' foot fence it broke the leg and healed on its on causing it to become shorter, I'm willing to bet even if a cast was put on it might still be shorter.  I honestly wouldn't have it checked out since there is no obvious pain but I sure will get a kick out of my self if I happen to be right. =) lol
