| Just got another call from Shiloh's vet wanting another update on how she's feeling. Two calls in 4 days... How cool is that? I feel super fortunate! |

She's napping. I swearthese are the most intelligent dogs... she would make you so proud. That cone that they gave her to wear scares her to death. I made her wear it home from the vet but I swear she thinks shes being punished for having an accident and I dont want her to be traumatized... and yet we can't have any chance we'll lick and infect those wounds so I had a talk with her and I swear she understands me. She is more than happy to make a deal with me! She has been an absolute little angel. She's thought about licking and even tried but only twice in 4 days, how incredible is that? Must take some restraint on the part of a dog not to do something so natural to them as to lick. All I have to do is say no licking and she quits and just leans against me wishing it would stop irritating her. The wounds look good. I think she really is going to be just fine. She's one lucky lady. |

It really is, I can't imagine that I was any more sore after my abdominal hysterectomy and tumor removal than she is right now. It's looking improved already today. More of a normal pink color than the angry red. Question for you JRT_Rattie_Mom? Are JRT's alot like ratties personality wise? That's what I wanted if I was ever to get another dog (pre-Shiloh) and I'd venture to guess their play styles and personalities might be simular.

| That is very nice of your vet to keep checking in with you. It shows she really cares about her patients. |

Sure does Pam, it's especially nice because this is a tiny town and help way out in the sticks is very limited. Most people out this way are ranchers and hunters. If your dog gets severely injured they take them way out back and shoot them. GULP!
I'd have driven a thousand miles for good care for her!
It's a blessing that we travel under 5 minutes and this lady truly cares... |

There really are a lot of similarities to the JRT and Rattie personalities. I think in general JRT's are usually way more demanding, and much more self-centered than Ratties are, and just not as eager to please their people. Our JRT is especially sweet, and once she's had enough exercise and play she is such a snuggle bunny, even more so than our Rattie. I've known quite a few JRT's, and many of them I would have had a hard time living with. I am definitely partial to Ratties if I could only have one or the other... but having one of each has been a great combo for us, they get along beautifully. |

| That's wonderful! I think its wonderful that you foster these little dogs. I am such a softie I'm afraid I'd have 10,000 animals in no time. I've always had alot anyway. |
