I would like to give them every day but my local Pet Supplies Plus store sells 12 inch bullies for over $3. So I ordered 100 standard 12 inch bully sticks for $160. I can cut them in two and give Lucky about 8" and Oscar 4" for .80 cents each. They are about as big around as two pencils side by side, maybe a little bigger. I still have some of the Nature's Variety 4.5 inch beef stix. They are only about 4" and not as big around but are big enough for Oscar. They are too small for Lucky, though. (I timed them the other nite, Oscar chewed it for 54 minutes. Lucky was done in 6) The ones I got online do stink, however. They smell strongly of dried urine. They don't seem to smell while they are being chewed though, and Luckys breath smelled fine afterwards. It may just smell strong because there are 50 of them in a pack. I keep them on the porch with a box of baking soda in the bag, hoping the smell will lessen. |

| At petco they sell then in like 4 inch pieces and you get 6 of them for like 5.99. That's what I do when I get them. Then it lasts a few times for my dogs. |

| I order mine from Nature's Variety. I know some of the other brands have a very distinct odor, and these do not... plus they are the right size for my four small dogs. |

The ones I use are also Merrick. You can order directly from Merrick and they have free shipping if you order $25 or $30 worth of stuff. They have lots of really great chews like pig snouts (snozzles) or beef trachea (moo tubes) in addition to bully sticks. By the way, I am extremely satisfied with their service, I get my order within 3 days of ordering it, sometimes the next day if I order early enough in the day.

I think Morgan uses the Merrick brand ... seems someone told me they don't smell. I get mine from Nature's Variety because I have a friend who I do agility with... she's a distributor for them and she gets them for me, as well as the food I feed (raw). Yes, my dogs get a bully stick every morning and it's not terribly cheap either! But... that's ALL they get each morning because I feed only once a day... in the evenings. They can't wait to get back inside each morning to get their bully sticks! LOL |

I get our Bully Sticks from Petsmart, I think the are Red Barn? I get the 6 inch, I usually give them to Fred and Alice when we have company over or need them to be doing their own thing. They love them so it keeps them busy. |

| I ordered my first batch from Nature's Variety (Nora provided a link as I had to order online). They didn't smell and the dogs loved them. Second batch I wanted to order more so I went for a cheaper brand...got 50 of them...they smell like cow pee. Dogs don't mind but hubby is a little put out since I store them in the treat cupboard with other foods....! |

| Would order the cheaper ones again? I found some cheap ones on ValuePet.com. Then I get wondering if they come from China...where did you order yours from? |

Mary Beth... yes the ones from Nature's Variety are more expensive, and when you have mutiple dogs like we do... it can add up! I really need to consider finding something else to give my dogs each morning !! I too have tried some cheaper brands, and they have a distinct odor I can't tolerate. All bully sticks are NOT created equal !! |

Maureen - the cheaper ones I ordered were from Value Pet! They are not from China so no problem there BUT they smell rank. I think my solution is to buy the smaller amount of Nature's Variety for treats and then get them some more Nylabone minty chews and Nutrident chewies.

| sorry for the lack of knowledge but are bully sticks the same as a rawhide bone? i really need to get something good for Corona to chew on because every now and then i find her chewing on things around the house. she does have a few chew toys but she's not into them so much. |

| They are not rawhide (most of us do not give rawhide due to dangers of chocking and intestinal blockage) plus a lot of it comes from China and is automatically suspect for quality/safety. Bully sticks are dehydrated bull penises (yuck, I know), but 100% natural. Very good for the dogs to chew on. They last my Daisy a long time. |

Ditto what Tracey said ! :=) (Please don't give your dogs rawhide... talk with your vet about it and he'll confirm that it's not a safe thing to give your furbaby) |
