So i just got my first rattie shes a girl her name is peatree.... her breeders had her and some of her siblungs outside in a cage where its snowing and wet, and the newes litter in a cold soaking wet garage... i brought her home she went potty and had tape worm so i brought her to the emergency vet on thanksgiving day.. she got her deworming shot... and i was told she was underweight and had low blood sugar...she is now on nutri-cal..which is a vitamin supplement...and high calories so she gains a little weight... BE OBSERVENT OF BREEDERS..A LOT OF THEM ARE OBV JUST IN IT FOR MONEY AND RUN PUPPY MILLS...the lady i got her from said she was smaller than the rest cause shes "tea cup" WRONG!!!!....she came to me sick...i was feeling guilty about going to a breeder again instead of adopting but i feel i am rescuing PEATREE from awful people who know nothing about animals...and whoever else buys there puppys should report them as well....because if they dont  i dont think they deserve the dog.

WATCHH AROUND YOU FOR PEOPLE MISTREATING ANIMALS... THEY SHOULD NOT BE LEFT OUTSIDE IN A CAGE ALL THE TIME OR TIED TO A TREE THATS NO WAY TO LIVE...I DONT CARE HOW MUCH I MISBEHAVES.. IF YOU HAVE AN ANIMAL... ITS A RESPONSIBILTY ...OTHERWISE IT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW FOR YOU TO OWN AN ANIMAL

Oh your poor little puppy. I'm so glad your were able to save her. I agree people who aren't going to take care and love any animal should NOT have one or any! Please keep us updated on your little baby.

Thank God you have her. However, buying from these breeders is a two-edged sword. One the one hand, you want to save them from an horrific life, on the other, buying from them encourages them to breed MORE pups that will suffer! I'm in NO WAY trying to make you feel guilty, just pointing out the difficulty in stopping puppy mill breeders. Just know that there ARE good, conscientious breeders out there, who work to better the breed, only breed the best to the best, and who take responsibility for every pup they produce for life! I think I know which breeder my Bertie came from, and if I'm correct, then she's a reputable breeder who breeds very few litters. It was the breeder who made sure Bert got into a rescue and could be re-homed. Many good breeders want their pups back, regardless of age or circumstances, if ever the owners can't keep them. Your story is repeated to often in this world, and we all wish the story would end. But, at least your Peatree has a happy ending, and I wish you many, many years of joy with her! Use this site for any help you might need. Everyone's really friendly, and there's YEARS worth of knowledge to be found here!

I really really really really wish I had the authority to inspect breeders for puppy mill practices and the authority to put them to work as a sentence in the local pounds and vets who end up with the issues they create with bad breeding and abuse. They should be the ones cleaning up the cr*p they created. Better yet, a cage out in the elements with substandard food and no clothes!
