Ok so my little man is at it again.  Besides his allergies and brain issues he now has deveolped this weird ear thing and i was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this....my vet says she has never seen anything like it and next thursday we go to surgery to get his ears biopsied...

Anyway it started with little nicks taken out of the side of his ears....we chalked this up to allergies and itchy ears as my vet has seen that before with allergic dogs.  Anyway then his ears started shedding it's top layers of skin in some places but the weird thing is it is perfectly symetrical on both ears.  there was one spot on the inside of each ear that was doing it then it did it to another part of the inner ear and now it has moved to the back...with the skin comes fur...it is not like a sunburn peeling and it doesn't hurt him if you pick it off-it almost seems like the skin that peels off after a blister but he hasn't had any blisters or anything-just a bubble of skin peeling off...it doesn't seem to bother him either but it is gross...my vet thinks it might be hormone related or an immune issue as with his other problems his is a good canidate to have an immune issue....

anyway like i said we go for our biopsy next week but wanted to know if anyone has heard of such a thing....

my poor little guy just can't catch a break...and my pocket book can't either.

Awwww, I'm so sorry. I haven't heard of it, either, so I'm no help there. But I do hope he is feeling better soon and they can get a handle on it and finda way to treat it successfully. Good luck and please let us know how it goes

Poor baby! I haven't heard of that issue, but Bob had a bump mysteriously appear on his right ear a few months ago and it finally went away. Let us know when you hear the results of the biopsy.

Have you contacted the breeder to see if he/she knows anything? Or is your baby a rescued pup? As a breeder I would want to know something like that was happening to one of my grandbabies!

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!

yes me and the breeder are in constant contact....They are the best and feel so bad that he has all of these medical issues as no other dog they have does...he is just special...they are wonderful though and are giving me my next pup for free because they feel so bad....They have stopped breeding his mom, brother and sister because of his issues....as the inherited ones seem to come from his mom...she had siezures as did his sister....so they only dog related to orvis they breed is his dad since his lines are good....but my pup will come from two dogs that are not related to orvis in any way....the mom is a rat/fox and the dad is a mini or toy....we are just waiting for her to go into heat....

so to make a long story short yes they know all about my special little man!!!
