I am seeing red. I took Patty to a vet yesterday to get checked out and she told me Patty is more like 2 or 3 years old, based on the tartar build up on her teeth. She looks older then Franny. I took her to have her one eye checked out as it weeps sometimes. Her eye is fine, there is nothing in it and there are no stratches or injury to her eye. She is now up to date on her shots.  She is healthy no worms or heartworms. I take Franny on Tuesday for her check up.

When I got home, I checked out Franny's teeth and hers are pearly white. And then I took a good look at her and she has a much younger face then Patty. I think the lady who sold the dogs to us is full of bologna. So how can these dogs be twins ?.............the plot thickens.

No matter how old the girls are they are MY DOGS.

Well, they are "twins" in their hearts and in yours.   Just don't tell Patty that she's probably older than Frannie---she'll never know the difference.

I understand how upsetting it is to be mislead by the people you got the dog from, we had issues with Yogi too and his medical history, and also his tempermant. But now that they are ours it makes it worth it! That's pretty bad though because the lady who sold you your dogs HAD to have known their ages!

Ahhhhhh rats....You and I know the lady knows how old these dogs are. I am not so good with guessing dogs ages, but the more I look at these dogs the more I am seeing their differences.

Who cares how old Patty is ? She is my girl now and so is Franny the Frenchie (this dog loves to kiss you)....

Wonder if you have some legal recourse without having to surrender the dogs that you love? Sounds like fraud to me?

Well, you said it all in that last sentence. To bad you were lied too tho. Glad Patty is otherwise healthy, happy, and secure in a home with you.

Well thank goodness they found a loving home and someone that cares about them. Obviously the lady that sold you the dogs didn't even care enough to realize that they weren't the same age. Which leads me to believe she is just worried about the dollars involved in selling dogs. I'm sure you could get her for fraud. And if they are registered pups you would be able to find out their real ages.
But the important thing is that they are in a loving and caring home and won't be neglected or rejected.

Why in the world would she have lied about Patty's age? Did she think no one would want her if they knew she was older? I just don't understand her motivation, but I'm glad that it doesn't make any difference in how much you love her and Franny.

I'm so glad you love her and want her no matter her age.  I wonder though, do they have different chew toy habits?  My old Lab only chewed only on soft, fleecy toys and her tartar would build up and her teeth would have to be cleaned every year or two.  My four yr old Lab chews on nylabones and she has beautiful pearly whites and has never had her teeth cleaned.

When I adopted Oscar I was told he was probably two years old based on the condition of his teeth.  I later found out from the vet that had given him his rabies shot that he was around 10 or 11 months old.  I personally couldn't care less how old he is, he's the most lovable little guy and I can't imagine not having him around. He loves chewing on raw bones and his teeth look much better now.

Well I think that Patty might be the mother of Sally (the dog I gave to my son), as she was always trying to nurse on her. Even after they were both fixed.  She is doing great at my son's house and is learning quickly to behave and listen to commands.

I thought I had an appointment today for Franny, but it is next Tuesday. I imagine the vet can tell me how old Franny is then

Well I wouldn't believe everything that your vet says as dogs can have different teeth issues just as children do.

I've had Rat Terriers that would need their teeth cleaned every month or so as tartar would build up so bad their breath stunk in just a very short while.  I've got others that have never had to have theirs cleaned and they are pearly white.  ALL of mine have access to chew toys.  Some use them some don't and even those that do still get tartar from time to time.

Use a warm clean wash cloth as a compress on that weepy eye once a day. The tear duck maybe clogged.
