to put someone on ignore on this forum so that you don't ever see anything they type?  Other forums I am a member of have this feature so I was just curious if that was something we could do here. Thanks!

Are you asking if there is some way to put someone on "ignore" so that NO one sees what that person types? Or... are you asking if there is some way to put someone on "ignore" so that a particular person cannot see what that person types? (make sense?)

Individual puts a person on ignore and that individual no longer sees the ignored posts.

That would be cool! Is there a way to do this in our real-life interactions with people we don't like?

He will see it, Bethany... hopefully he'll respond, because I have no clue.
Yeah... I'd like an "ignore" button for real life too!
I have an "easy" button, but that doesn't always work!

Lance sees anything posted with his name in it so he WILL see this.  And I have thought about the same thing...another forum I visit (non dog related) has this feature for trolls and flamers...I REALLY would like to see this feature on here.

In a JRT forum I was in it had this feature, However I always found I was curious about what I was missing. I would put the ignore on someone but then check what they posted. I have no self control.

1. No, there is no ignore "feature" here. Ignore is a bad thing, because it is simply an attempt at patching the real problem. The real problem should be dealt with, and that is the people that are causing other people to want to ignore.

2. My recommendation for how to resolve these problems. When you see someone flaming, flame-baiting, being a total jerk, etc - use the "Alert" button at the top of their email. This will notify me (and the other mods) directly. When I see someone acting in an inappropriate way multiple times, I send them a private message. If they continue to act this way, I will ask them to leave the forum. Usually people clean up their act or simply go away.

3. For those who don't know - I have to lean on our AMAZING moderators to run this forum. They selflessly donate their time to helping this place be fun and enjoyable. When certain people use this forum to antagonize others or generally cause problems, it is a slap in the faces of these moderators who work so hard here. That said, I do read every single message that contains my name. So if you want to get my attention at anytime, just say my name in the message. I might not see it for a while, but I will see it. If you need to get me (or another moderator immediately, that is when you would use the Alert button).

4. Morgan, Tracey, Jan, and Nora - thanks so much.

Thanks for the answer Lance. Sometimes the things I want to ignore may not be upsetting to others. I have a very low tolerance for stupidity. However I see your point.

Me, too.  And you can't change stupid....add insanity to it and it's even more irritating.

Two posts from the Great Oz in one day?! We probably won't hear from him again the rest of the month.

BTW, I saw a music video this morning where people were playing beach volleyball, and it made me wonder if you're still playing volleyball and how your team is doing.

Yeah Lance. I for one, am glad to know there isn't an ignore button here! If anyone ever felt the need to ignore me I'd prefer they tell me I'm irritating them than ignore me.
