Lola is home!  She's WAY cute in person! I couldn't get photos to upload in the photo section on my slow computer, so I'm pasting links to the photos below. These are not the best photos, because all I have is a cheap webcam and the lighting isn't very good in the computer room.  Also, it's difficult to take a good picture of a creature engaging in perpetual motion! Lola is doing very well with all the other dogs in the house, as well as all the new people.  She's taking it all in stride and is very confident and happy.  The only thing that's giving her pause is the sheer volume of cats in this house.  They are making it clear how they feel about her exuberance, and she doesn't understand what all this fussy hissing and scratching is about. My own cat will never forgive me;  she's sitting judgmentally a few feet away at the moment, glaring at me with her ears flattened.  She's been doing this for about 12 hours now!  But aside from the cats, everyone else is accepting Lola well.  The giant ball of elderly fur we call "Uncle Roger" is babysitting Lola quite nicely.  He's about the most chill dog I've ever met.  He is standing in one place, smiling knowingly, as Lola bounces and galavants around him.  It's very cute.

Unexpectedly, Lola does not have a crate.  Jasper's is being used by my roommate's dog Sparki and I was going to buy Lola one yesterday, but there was a problem with my debit card that customer service says "they are working toward resolving" and "should know something within 48 hours," which does not help much at the moment! There's a plastic pet carrier here that she'll fit in, but it's really too small.  I guess I can use that in a pinch, and hopefully get her hers "within 48 hours."  I don't know about leaving her in this small one all day tomorrow, though.

Anyway, here she is:

So glad to hear that Lola is doing well. Since the cats don't seem to like her very much, I would definately use that crate, even if it is small, anytime you can't be watching her directly. Hate for the little lady to get her face slapped just for being an exuberant puppy!

She's really cute. Yes, either crate her (one day in a small crate will not be the end of her, or restrict her to a small room like the bathroom with no cat access (but puppy proof it). Crate is the best way. Good luck, she's beautiful!

Love your description of her "babysitter" LOL!
Welcome! I agree, separate her from the cats while you're not there with her. It will protect her and give them a break.

She's starting to go in the little crate on her own since I fed her in it. She doesn't like being closed in it, but she'll have to deal with it tomorrow. Hopefully by tomorrow evening I can get her a larger one.

She and my cat made some progress this morning.  I sat down to pet Sage and Lola trotted up with interest. Sage held her ground but didn't hiss, and Lola sniffed cautiously toward her.  They touched noses without incident and both sat with me to be petted at the same time.

Lola has been curled up with me all morning watching a movie.  She loves belly scratches and burrowing under the blankets. I just love her!

Lola sure is a cutie-pie.  I love the photo in your avatar because Lola has such an adorable smile.
