All, this morning kim and woke up earlier and decided that we would go to breakfast before I took her to work, as we were walking out the door I said lets take a side trip to the county dog shelter, So we headed off to the dog pound, which I hate going to because it makes me sad to see all those dogs there. So we were there looking at the dogs when one of the workers waved at us to come into another part of the kennel. While Kim was talking to the worker she mentioned we had a rattie and the worker said they had just taken in a rattie but it was not available for adoption because it had it broke the skin of a 6 yr. old child in the home it came from they are not sure if it was a bite or a scratch. Kim and I are both taken by the little guy and really want to bring him home but here in this county it is up to the dog warden and the vets that check the dogs if they will release him or put him down, they don't like to release dogs that have bitten, but it has happened. The little guy has food allergies he is pretty small for being a year old but we feel he would be a great playmate for our Harlee. Once I dropped Kim off I came home and emailed the dog warden and told him that we want to give that little guy a second chance. I then called Kim at work, to tell here that I sent the email, and she told me that when she was on break she had called the dog shelter  and told them that she wanted to give him a second chance. So the worker took our name and will contact information Kim really thinks that this maybe one of harlee litter mates as he is about the same age and looks very much like harlee's mom. So at this point we do not have a playmate for Harlee but we are trying. I have no idea why I went to the pound this morning but I am happy that I did. I think we will both be very disappointed if they put him down or we don't get him  so all we can do is pray and hope. The pound will be my first call on monday morning. Keep your fingers crossed for this little guy.

Bill and Kim.

I've got my fingers and toes crossed.  Marley has his paws crossed, too.  Good luck.

Fingers and paws crossed here too (and elbows and nose). You might ask if they will release to rescue if not to adopters. If so you might be able to get him out as a foster and then apply to keep him. Not sure.

Bless his heart! If we had taken Amos to the animal shelter for "breaking the skin", he would have gone long ago. That just doesn't seem fair. The majority of dog bites are just the dog trying to protect what he has, which in some cases is very little. I so hope that the Warden will let ya'll give this boy a chance and let ya'll get him out of that shelter before he catches something!
