I have a 7 year old spayed female weighing about 12 lbs who is just great.  what experiences have you all had with adding puppy to the household with adult dog who is sort of jealous, her only fault.... .  thanks for your input.

I have plenty of ratties around and I think it really depends on the personality of the dog you are adding in. You need one that is submissing (in my opinion of course) so that there isn't as much if any a challenge to the queen bee. This will just make your life easier to introduce them.

Also if you handle things the way that makes sense to them i.e. putting your girl first in feeding, attention, treats and so forth that will make her know her place and the newbie will be in 2nd place to her and she won't have to fight for her spot.

On that note, Ratbone Rescues as 5 puppies available for adoption and I met them today. They are soooo sweet and there were probably 2 out of the bunch who were pretty layed back. The first one that comes to mind is Scrabble you can see all of them atwww.imageevent.com/beales/fosters/playfulfamily

I hope this helps.
