New to the site...have a male rat terrier, Trace. I have another female dog that was in heat and Trace was going insane with this situation. She is now not in heat and he is hurting bad...it seems that the area between his testicles and his butt is sore to the touch...he can do everything that he could before this but he walks around very gingerly and seems miserable. Wondering if I should be concerned...I know that a trip to the vet is probably inevitable but wondering if anyone has seen this and should I be concerned...any replies would be appreciated...

Thanks

Welcome to the site. I have no experience with this problem. I would highly suggest a trip to the vet is in order as I seem to recall that male dogs can have some significant problems with their testicles (twisting, etc) and I'd want to make sure it's not something serious by assuming it's a pulled muscle or something.

Any reason they are not fixed?

Welcome to the site! You'll love it here!
I'm afraid I don't have any helpful info on that subject. I'd take him to the vet, just to make sure it isn't anything serious.

did you allow them to breed? he might have hurt something there...pulled a muscle or like Tracey said, something more serious. I'd take him to the vet just in case...he might just need to be quiet and rest for that area to heal, but there could be something more going on.
