ok i have another question. my brother  has a red mini pin. we have gone through 2 harness's already cause she has chewed them off of her. he puts her outside on a tie down in the back yard cause she can squeeze through places in the fence and get out and she did that one time and got lost when it was raining and storming one night. anyway does anybody have any suggestions bout what he can use for her so she does not chew it up and get out?

I bought Tinkerbelle a thicker leather collar.  She was scratching and chewing at the others until they just fell apart.  She still can chew the very end of her collar, but it has lasted the longest.

I'm not a big fan of the metal ones but i'm sure she wouldn't be able to chew through that. Just need to make sure it wouldn't have any sharp edges or anything like that. I think that min pins are known to chew though. My daughters dad has one and it stayed at my place for a few hours one day while we all went out for lunch. I baby gated it to the kitchen. When we got back it was out running around pooped all over my floor. It had chewed the plastic on the gate and slipped through the hole it chewed. I know that Ashtyn's dad also had problems with her chewing on wires and things too. Although she is still some what of a puppy it may just be the puppy fase. It is funny because his min pins name is Izzy just like our rattie's name is Izzy. Got a little confusing when yelling the name izzy both dogs came. Halarious stuff.

From what I understand you are not supposed to use harnesses on tie-outs. Could you just use a regular collar? She shouldn't be able to reach that to chew on it.

Izzy's hasn't chewed on her collar that i know of but i did get her a silencer for her tags and she chewed that off so it could be possible for them to still chew off the collar i guess maybe??
