| That's hard to say, Lions84. Generally if you get a "brand new" puppy and raise him with the cat, he should be o.k. BUT, the cat may have other ideas! |

P.S. Of course, you could rescue a rattie in need of adoption that's been kitty-tested and approved (just saying...) Welcome to the site! |

| Darcy tolerates the farm cats but Sophie plays with them. She has a couple cats that torment her by rubbing up against her when she's trying to walk. |

| Welcome! I can't speak for every rat, of course, but ours get along GREAT with our cat, Jasper. They are about the same size, and Jasper will even rub against him if he's feeling especially friendly. However, our cat is more like a dog (temperment-wise), so we've got it pretty easy! |

| My boyfriend has a cat. The cat hides from Shadow... but lately they are in the same room and within 3 feet of each other. This was funny cause Monday I was taking a nap and Shadow always naps with me... the cat jumped in the bed and Shadow raised his head and went back to sleep... the cat looked at shadow and came to me and laid down by me. So the rat was at my feet and the cat was at my chest... go figure this one out. |

| Welcome! I think if it is a puppy when you get it then you should be okay with them getting along. |

| When we first got Abby she was so small I worried the cat would hurt her! Now I worry the other way!! They seem to get along just that Abby is a bit rough with Sarah. They both sleep with us!! |

Depends on the rattie and the cat. Mine get along with each other but some do not. |
