I think I got mine at a Petsmart years ago & don't remember the brand to be quite honest.  Sadly they're not cheap, but I have never regretted the investment.  Have used it for five different dogs now.

I have the 3' tall version with 8 connected sections to it.  Just right for small dogs and makes a variety of shapes.    Button's quite a jumper and has never succeeded in getting over the top.  Zipper would never think of trying to get out!   LOL  I think the larger model is 4' high (and probably has more sections to it) , but not sure about that.

For those of us who have never been involved in the Jamboree before, what kind of items are needed for the raffle? What has been raffled in the past? Are the donations expected to be "big ticket" items? or is anything really appreciated?

Thanks for the list Patti. I think we are all so excited that the time will drag until the meetup!

Paul, that is great about the tarp.  When I read "big open field" I thought "uh-oh" for Randy.  He can't take sun, so maybe you would share a corner of it with him?

Thank you Peggy!

When you own a Rattie....you KNOW you are in your right mind

THE MEANING OF RESCUE

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm... Yes there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

You're welcome, Kimberly.  Something else for folks to remember is this part of Tennessee can still be pretty cool in April, by Texas standards anyway.    I'll be sticking in a coat and layered clothes to be prepared for any weather, myself.

When we were still teaching, our Spring Breaks were always in mid-April and we often went over to the Smokies and eastern Tennessee camping.  It often got pretty chilly in the evenings and was pretty cool in the daytime if the sun wasn't shining.  I remember one camping trip when it was 80º when we left Texas; it hit 32º in Vicksburg the first night we headed out; it was even colder when we got to eastern Tennessee.

Awesome Patty. Thanks so much. I'll be coming from Maine so I won't have my doggie ... really bums me out ... but I'm sure I'll have enough of my friends doggies to go around. Thanks for doing all the work on this ... sounds like fun. D

Donna,

I'm sure Spanky wont mind me sharing him with you

I have another question about the Jamboree. Do folks set up on Friday and leave their stuff up overnight? I'm talking about sun shades, x-pens, etc. I'm thinking of bringing my pop up canopy, x pen and a couple of lawn chairs but wasn't sure about having to set them up twice over the two days.

Any help and advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Also, if someone would be so kind as to list some of the things that have been donated for the raffle, I'd really appreciate it.

We set up ours on Friday and leave it until Sunday tear down.  This is the first time we've used this field, but it is part of the KOA campground.  I would not leave anything extremely portable like crates, etc.  We don't leave the paperwork and things.

We won't know until the day of the Jamboree. LOL  The "cost of admission" is one item (or more)  to be raffled.  It can be a dog toy or a people item, and any price range.

Check out the photos on the Jamboree website that show the raffle tables to see a representation of the items brought for the raffle. (www.ratterrierjamboree.com)

People donated toys, beds, carriers, dishes, collars and leashes, baskets containing many smaller items, cookware, jewelry, glassware, doggie treats, doggie clothes, etc.

Basically, we had a wide gammet of doggie and people items.

When thinking about what to bring, ask yourself...what would I like to win in the raffle?
