So, Cheryl, I saw your posting earlier about the rope-n-go harness and it looked like a great product!  Did you order one?  How's it working for you?

Looked like a great harness for Rowdy.  He's usually right between the small and medium sizes- with his small, skinny build and his big barrel chest.  I love his puppia harness, but it honestly doesn't fit him very well and he can slip right out of it.  Anyway, decided to go ahead and order one (in orange) and I absolutely LOVE it!  He's in a size small and I love how it's so adjustable.  He can't slip out of it and it doesn't choke him or anything.  He starts some training classes here shortly and I didn't want to use his puppia due to fit but I didn't want to use the regular collar either.  And I can't use his head collar- that's not allowed in the class.  So, this seems like such a great option.

Just wanted to thank you for posting the link. Cheryl.  I'm so happy with this harness and the matching leash is a nice touch.  Plus he looks HOT in the bright orange!

I decided to share a couple photos so you can see how well it fits, in case anyone else is pondering this harness....

At first Rowdy was more interested in a tomato snack than being a model...

But, tempt him with a bone and he decides this modeling gig isn't quite so bad.

I'm glad the harness works so well for Rowdy. It looks like it fits him great. I've been thinking about getting one for both Molly and Lucy. They're right between 2 sizes too (Lupine harnesses), and I had to get the larger size, but it doesn't fit right...the part that's supposed to be around the ribcage goes too far back...Molly has slipped out of it once (thankfully, we were inside at the time), and I'm afraid of it happening again. I'm going to have to look at the rope-in-go website again and figure out which size the girls need...and which color(s) to get.

Rowdy must be abot the same size and build as Yaz. I finally ordered her a Puppia harness after wanting one for so long. It doesn't fit. I ordered the medium and it's WAY too big around her neck. I still prefer it to a collar since that can easily slide right over her bitty head but still the loose harness makes me nervous too. Does Rowdy seem to like the rope n go? Is the handle on the leash comfy for you to hold? Is it easy to get on & off? Thanks.

Hi, Your welcome about the rope-n-go link. I haven't gotten mine yet but it should be coming soon. So far both of my dogs can wear a puppia but the medium is snug around the middle. I hope the rope-n-gos work for my two. Bright pink for Taffy and bright purple for Aka!!

Puppia is the one brand that is sized differently. Rowdy's a big RT, so he's right between a large and XL. Right now he's in the XL and it's too loose on him. Makes me nervous. But, with Puppia clothes, he fits the XL perfectly! I don't get it. Anyway, the rope n go and really adjustable, so I was able to customize it for his smaller collarbone and larger chest. The fit doesn't bother him and I like the way it tucks right in behind his legs. I think that's part of why it doesn's just slip right off. It's not as far back on him as regular harnesses. It is right behind his leg, but it's soft and small enough it doesn't bother him at all. He was just fine with it from the first time I put it on him. In fact, I even took him on a walk we don't usually go on so I could test if he could pull out of it very readily. (Usually, he pulls more on new walks- new scents, you know!) Even if I tugged it forward, it didn't slip forward or over his head and that's his "escape artist" trick. The leash is comfortable to hold too. The have that little piece of rubber there to protect your hand from the rope, but honesetly, the rope isn't uncomfortable at all anyway. It's soft.
When you first get the harness, it looks complicated to get it all adjusted, but it's not that hard. Plus, once you get it adjusted, it stays that way, so you simply slip it on and off after that. Since it's all one rope, it's easy to adjust it to a smaller collar with a broader chest. We've used it several times since then and I'm still really happy with it. I even like how they give it a handle down in the middle of the leash. I almost never heel Rowdy in that close, but, yesterday, on our walk, we ran into a stray dog and it was so handy to have the short leash handle to keep Rowdy on one side so I could hold the dog on the other side while we found his home. (Rowdy really makes me so proud! We found and walked home a stray lab and the entire time he was a very friendly gentleman! Sniffed noses and then OK walking calmly beside me so I could focus on finding the owners.)

Darn that "no edit" feature!

But, BTW, Rowdy is 21" in girth and the small fits him fine. I can even adjust it a little bigger if he puts on a bit more weight. If he was smaller, I could easily adjust it smaller and it would still fit him just fine.

I have spent an shameful amount of money trying to get the right harness!!

When she was just tiny I got a small puppia and it was to tight! She was like 7 pounds---

I can remember the other ones but now I have Easy Walker

Pro--it seem like there is much less pulling, unless she has finally learned to heel by training

Con--even though it is a small, It is a bit to big and she tried to get out--sigh

Rowdy's just a tiny bit smaller than Lucy...she is 21.5" in girth. Molly is 22.5" in girth and I emailed the rope-n-go people to ask which size I should get her...they said they'd make the small size a tiny bit bigger to fit her!!
