What is the best way to introduce Emma to Bob so that he won't be jealous of her?

Maybe let someone else hold her so he doesn't get overprotective of you?

I would just hold her and let him sniff her. The best reaction would be if had a small amount of intrest in her.

Emma is almost here, so I sat Bob in my lap and talked to him about her. I told him he had to be gentle with her because she is just a baby. He licked his lips. Do you think that is a bad sign?

That depends... did he do a closed mouth lick or one of those open mouth yawn licks?

I think Bob's gonna be just fine. I think often that little tiny puppies don't bother most dogs too much. I know I was real worried about my Anna - who's pretty anti-dog - when Daisy came home, but she really didn't seem to feel threatened or irritated, just a little curious.

Can't wait to hear how the exchange goes and how Bob does.
