I was just into my 4th hour of sleep and Gidget started whining...followed by stinking.  She left the biggest, nastiest logs I've ever seen her drop.  Right on her doggy bed in her kennel.  I don't think she started whining until after she trudged around in her poo.  Of course I was only half awake when I let her out to see if she'd finish outside (although I'm pretty sure she'll be empty for the day after that), so I didn't have the coordination to grab her collar as she ran out of the kennel.  She proceeded to make poo tracks all over the bedroom, all of the bed, and jumped into the clean clothes pile.  Eh, not so clean anymore.  I took her outside, then gave her ANOTHER bath, after just having given her one last night.   Grrrr.  I'm going to have to put a cork in her or something.  I don't think 3 hours is an unreasonable time to 'ask' her to hold it, do you?  Well, I hope all of your days got off to a better start

How old is Gidget? We are still working on crate training and on Sunday Izzy was in her crate for all of 5 hours and she pooped in her crate and then smooshed it in the crate with her blanket and everything. Yuck. I was putting her in the bathroom for a while and she did it in there as well and then ruined her toys and puppy bed as well. She she no longer has a bed. At least not until she quites going potty and poo in the crate. She hasn't been going poo in her crate for the past two days but is still potting. They say for every month old your dog is they should be able to hold it for that long. Izzy will be 1 next month!

She's 8 month old. I was pretty sure we had an understanding that crate does not equal toilet because it has been a few months since the last time she decided to paw paint with the stinky. Pffft, what do I know? I'm not a dog. Or maybe she was saving it for me. Kinda like "look what I can do!".

Oh, what a horrible wake-up call. Hopefully it was just a fluke. She definitely should be able to hold it for more than 3 hours

Bob did this a couple of times when he was around 9 months old. It's like he had a day or two of regression and then got back on track again.
