So, y'all remember when I mentioned that the I was sick of getting used and having people mooch, right?

Well, prime moocher #1 called and asked if I could do a "favor" and let the dogs out while the family was on vacation.

My response: Um...NO. The favor train pulled out and you missed it.

Needless to say, there was probably an ambulance on its way to pick up moocher #1, due to a catatonic state, induced by someone saying, "NO".

Paul...don't laugh...I really don't like saying no to people, but I despise the insult of someone even thinking I'm so dumb.

Hey---I know exactly what you're talking about!  i used to sort of do "little favors" for people that would come by my work because it just seemed easier to go look something up myself rather than to show them how to go about it, and before I knew it, people from other companies were dropping stuff off at my work, on my desk, to do for them because I .."was a nice guy, and wouldnt mind doing it".  It took me a long time to muster up enough courage to say "no" to them, but I'm so glad I did.

The first No is the hardest! It will get easier and easier. Pretty soon you'll be saying No before they even finish their favor request.
