OK guys I'm in a lot of pain. For those that haven't read the good morning post. I've pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve in my right shoulder area. It hurts just under my shoulder blade. I need ya'll advice/opinions/help. Do I move it around or keep it still? Heating pad or ice pack. It hurts to put it over my head. I would ask Brad but guess where he is? You got it golfing!
Thanks guys! |

| When ever my back hurts I use those ice hot patches. They make them feel better for the time being. It's hard to tell if you should stretch or not because I think, not positive though, that you are supposed to let a stretched muscle rest and heal but stretch a pinched nerve. Sorry I'm not much help on this one. |

I don't know, Jolene... I do hope you feel better. Have you tried a nice HOT shower yet?? Sometimes the heat will help loosen up stiffness. You may want to see a doc... just to know what it is that you did... pulled muscle or pinched nerve. Call me if you need anything. |

| Jolene, because it came on so sudden, I'd go with the pinched nerve theory, I get those nice little nasty surprises every now and again too and it hurts like bloddy hell! It is stretch a pinched nerve, rest a pulled muscle... so you do need to decide just how this happened. If you weren't lifting when this happened or over exerting at the time, it most likely is a pinched nerve. Firstly, try a few different things . I you stand facing a door or wall and put your outstretched palms flat on the wall and lean your weight into it, does your right shoulder feel better? Careful, if it hurts more that kind of pain can drop you to your knees, test this very slowly. If it helps, you can lean this way to aleviate it when its really acting up. Another is to lay your shoulder (facing the wall) against a door frame and just lean the weight of your body into it, with the door frame nestledwhere your arm connects with the body... pressure against the area is what seems to aleviate a pinched nerve. Tylenol every 4-6 hours is what the docs would recommend and alternate heat and ice. And follow what your body tells you, if it hurts like crazy to move it, you're gonna be all hunched over for a few days. I have one area that when I do the most basic things goes. I have thrown the shoulder completely out of whack opening the refrigerator door. One wrong yank and I'm walking around like the hunchback of notre dame! I'm so sorry! I wish I could loan you hubby's fingers for a bit. David finds where the nerve actually is by touching around the shoulder... when he finds the spot it's not like I can help letting him know it! Hurts bad as soon as touched. He will usually place his fingers of each hand above and below the area and gently pull his hands apart. Maybe when Brad gets home you can describe this and see if he can help you. In the meantime, tylenol, and a heating pad and ice pack! |

| THanks ya'll. I do think it is a pinched nerve because when I massage it with a little pressure the pain isn't as bad. Thanks, for all the info guys! xoxoxoxo |

Lmao First thing I did when we got home was go put on a sarong, and nothing else, sat in the center of the greenhouse in the dirt, surrounded by my tropical plants, second thing I did was go stand under my favorite tree... my totem, the red tailed hawk joined me and I literally cried looking up at a for real live hawk. You can't explain that to those that don't understand, they have to feel it for themselves. Johnny said the other day that I've raised them all as hippies... guess so... there's worse things to be than tree huggers! |

| Jolene, this sounds about as woo woo as out-there people can get but I swear to the powers that be it works. Get in a hot bath, tie about 3-4 regular old tea bags to the spigot and soak in it. It won't be easy to get a shoulder completely emerged, but lay under the tea water and apply gentle pressure to your shoulder. Poor baby, I wish sincerely that I could be there to help you. To me anyway, nerve pain is the worst there is! |

| you up for a big walk and lots of dragging willows? we have everything on the property needed, may even find a way to incorporate the cob house in whatever stage of building its in. of course we can do it! i think between us we could move that big old mountain if we wanted to (personally i think it's an excellerator anyway,) we can do it dear. no worries! the cherokee women built them in a day or two, why cant we? only thing missing is blankets (can you see military blankets in that old icky wool, green- color? I can for some reason, can even smell them moist with steam...) you don't by chance happen to have a fast forward button do ya? im ready NOW! LOL |
