OK, first of all, my baby sister left at 5:30am to fly to NY to visit with her inlaws....and she took MY baby!! (my one year old niece). They have never flown before and had to make two layovers. Needless to say I was worried about her all day..not to mention missing her since I have to do my job AND hers this week. I spent all day typing fixture schedules (this consists of looking at architect plans and copying the teeny tiney descriptions they have for the plumbing fixtures...one was 14 pages long!) faxing, taking material orders, answering phones....pretty much everything. (I THINK I have a desk under all my papers, but I'm not sure anymore!) Then I go pick Austin up from school. He gets in the truck and I ask him what he did in school today...one word answer..math. This is not normal, so I ask him if something happened at school...well his face just completely fell and he dropped his head. (at this point I am thinking the worst!!!) He told me he got into a fight.....A FIGHT???? MY AUSTIN???? The sweetest, take up for anyone kid??? The teacher never called me, so I had no idea. He says that a little boy in his class (that they've had problems with all year) was fighting with one of Austin's friends and Austin told him to stop (I'm sure there were more words than that said...but whatever...) Austin turned to walk away and the other kid jumped him from behind and tackled him...then he hit him in the eye and the nose....so Austin said "Mom, I just jumped back on him...I'd had enough!" He then quickly reminded me that we said that as long as he never throws the first punch, he won't get in trouble at home if he's in a fight. I reassured him that he wasn't in trouble. I asked him what the teacher said, and he said that she wasn't mad at him b/c he was honest and never actually "hit" the other boy...then he said "Oh, and I told her that YOU said it was ok if I fight!!!" I could have pinched him!! Then we go to the ECU ballgame and while we are there a man that was walking across the street (with his little son on his shoulder" was hit by a truck!! It's been a long day!! Although I thank God that I didn't lose my kid like Shannon did!!

OMG! Good for Austin.. he needs to take up for himself and his friend. Tell him I'm proud of him... What happened to the man and his son who were hit??? Are they okay? Geez! Hey, my kid is safe... I'm good... give Austin a hug from me... poor kid! Love that he told the teacher you said it was okay to fight. LOL

I guess. I can't believe the teacher never called. Especially if he told her that you said it's ok to fight. I hope he has a better day tomorrow

They think that the guy broke his ankle...it knocked him right out of his shoe. Lucky for him, the truck had just pulled out and turned into the lane, so it wasn't going very fast....we knew he was going to be ok when he called the driver an F***** idiot!! The little boy was knocked off of his shoulders, but landed in the grass on the median they were both taken to the hospital, but we think that they are ok. It made me have flashbacks to J.C. As soon as I heard that someone had been hit by a car, my friend and I both took off running and asking everyone where our husbands were!!

She didn't call because there was no blood involved and she didn't want to turn it into the office, bc if she had, Austin and his Friend would have been in trouble too, and she didn't want that to happen. (she pretty much said that the other kid deserved it...without REALLY saying it!!) She just laughed when I told her about WHY we told him it's ok to fight! (he was being bullied last year and the director of the school wouldn't take care of it and I worked there so I couldn't really say anything to him either...his mom already tried to have me fired b/c I wouldn't set up a play date when they were three and I was seven months prego and on bedrest!!!!!!) So we told him that after he had told the teacher and nothing was done, that if that little brat hit him again to just go back at him!!)

When I was in school my mom told me to walk away. But my dad told me to make sure I didn't throw the first punch and to call him instead of mom. HEHEHE He's actually my step dad but I consider him my dad. My bio-dad doesn't like responsability. Enough said on that. Pops is really cool with stuff like that.
