I spent some time with one of my best friends last night and she has a rat terrier!! His name is Oreo and he's just precious... She has been frustrated with him and was venting about some of their issues. I was able to give her excellent advice from what I have learned here. She was so encouraged and said she would put those 'practicals' to use. So, my hat is off to all of you who share your experiences and knowledge. She is way too busy to join here (for those of you who are wondering) but she is eager to learn more. Yay! I'll try to get some picts of Oreo. He's a beauty!! :)

I also am very appreciative of the information I have received here. I have found that with all of our heads combined we have a great wealth of information. I love having a place to go when I need answers. These dogs have such huge personalities I think many people don't know what to do with them, that is why we find them in shelters across the country. I think we are all very devoted do our dogs and have opened ourselves up to actually learning about them to understand where they are coming from. I am glad that everyone is so open to sharing their understandings with each other. I just know that our knowledge base just grows with each new person/rattie.

I am a much better dog owner this time around, thanks to the training advice I've gotten here. I've even managed to teach my hubby the better way to discipline and train Bob. He was from the old school of punishment instead of positive discipline.
