me keep my sanity!!!! As some of you know, we started Blake on Focalin for his ADHD last tuesday. Well, it takes about a month for it to get in his system good and to get past the side effects. The side effects are gonna make me go LOONEY!!!!!! He is MORE defient, MORE whiney, MORE moody!!! If the Dr. hadn't warned me about this I would have thought he was losing his mine....I know that I am about to lose mine!! I have ADHD myself and have not felt as though I "needed" my meds this bad in a long time! I feel like I am coming out of my skin, just from the stress of him..... I know it will all be ok..I just needed to vent!!!!!!!! Luv you guys!

Vent all you want! I don't have any experience with this...I hope things "kick in" and he settles down. ((hugs))

Thanks Shannon, believe it or not, it really helps to just be able to vent to someone...anyone.....

(((Hugs))) it WILL get better, lock yourself in the bathroom if you need to get away for a few minutes.

Oh, I know what you mean... I went through two weeks with Nick whining everyday. I don't know what was going on but I was ready to move to Australia!! I threaten to live with the kangaroos all the time! LOL I do really hope Blake can calm down a bit. I'm sure once his meds kick in, he'll be much better and happier. I wish we lived closer together... we would have a ball!! :)

Brandy, it will get better...I went through that with my daughter many years ago when we found out she was ADD. The medication made all the difference in her grades and how she felt about herself. Vent all you want , we will listen. Emmy Lou

Of course Blake signs up for T-ball next week, and then..if he makes it, and it's looking good...I have Allstars with Austin...it never ends!! (but that's ok, we all love it!)

Hey Brandy, Just offering another shoulder to lean on or an ear to vent to. While I have no children of my own, my entire career was working with children and youth. As you said, it will get better but right now it just is hard. I'm guessing your response about living with the kangaroos is related to Alexander's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad, Day! book. If not, then you must go and get a copy. I think we need to write one for the moms and dads. Try and find ways to laugh. That is an amazing surge of energy and all sorts of good emotional chemicals that your body releases when you have a really good deep belly laugh. And sometimes the best times to laugh are in the midst of the most horrendus occassions. As you know, we are all here for you! Vent, yell, virtually scream into your pillow, what ever it takes. You will make and so will your son. It is wonderful that he has a mom who knows what he is going through and has experienced it. Take very good care!!! Aloha, Cheryl
