I haven't been on here as much today 'cause I've been searching online for a decently priced digital SLR camera for my daughter.  Example:  Nikon D70 SLR is perfect but all reputable businesses are asking too much for my budget.

So where's a good place for cameras on line?  She's got an opportunity for an apprenticeship with a well known photographer but needs a good camera.

Nikons are fantastic cameras. I don't think I would buy anything other than a Nikon for myself. You could always try going to Costco to see if they have a good deal on them.

My SLR camera is a Canon Rebel... 8 megapixel... but it's the lenses that are expensive! My "small" camera is a Kodak, 12x optical zoom... 6 megapixel and it takes great pictures. Sometimes, I like it better cuz it's not so cumbersome and doesn't have all the freakin' attachments to lug around !

Thanks guys...will continue the search! It's supposed to be a professional or semi-professional setup for taking shots backstage at concerts, etc. for a portfolio. Can't be a simple digital like I have...wish I could find one for that price! The Nikon D70 SLR runs about $700-900 with basic accessories. May have to buy just the body and the lens later.

I have never has any problems with this company. You have to be careful buying digital camera online...some places offer prices that seem "to good to be true" and they rip you off. I hope yhat you find your daughter the perfect one.

Thanks Emmy Lou! I've already encountered the "too good to be true" places. One had my camera on backorder....and could not tell me when in the NEXT YEAR it would ship! Luckily they hadn't charged me yet.
