I worked 8-4 today, got some groceries after work, and came home and made baked beans and put them in the oven.  I just got a call from my stepson asking if we minded if he brought a friend along with him when he came for dinner.  Do I mind?  Heck, I didn't even know HE was coming for dinner!!!    I confront hubby who says, his son called this morning and said he might come by tonight.  Men!!!

I have laundry all over the family room, my kitchen floor has tumbleweeds rolling across it, I'm tired, and Bob doesn't feel good.  Yep, we're all prepared for company.    This may turn out to be the Texas Father's Day Massacre.

And of course your husband would say he sees nothing wrong with the house, right?

I don't blame you for being upset.  Company will just have to accept things like they are! You have had a rough day and should be taking it easy! You deserve time to relax!!! Let them wait on you! They can also do the clean up...they are capable!

Tell me about it!  Guess, where I have to go tomorrow!  Yup, you guessed it... Brad's parents for dinner with those screaming kids who don't know what an inside voice is.

Oh, well, join the club. Yesterday my stepdaughter informed me (one hour prior to their arrival) that they were bringing a friend of my granddaughter's. Okay, I'm editing out what else I said -- I should not air dirty laundry -- let's just say I had a little run in with my stepdaughter last night and I can never count on my husband to back me up.   Aaarrrgggg!

So sorry Pam & Jan!   I have stepchildren too... and since I do... I do NOTHING when it comes to Father's Day (since we don't have children together) and whatever happens...happens on Father's Day... I do the same for hubby that he does for me on Mother's Day... and that would be....NOTHING.  We've been married for 11 years... and some years his kids do something for him, some years they don't.  This year they took him camping for 5 days... and he had a good time. I told him Happy Father's Day when he came home... and then took his "doggie daughters" to the dog park!
