Apollo's Mommy

I know ya'll know that but I just wanted to tell this to people that I know understand!
I look at my Apollo and my Emma as they are sleeping, playing, etc. and I just love them soooo much. Everything about this breed is amazing. I never knew ratties exsisted before I got Apollo in November of last year. As time as pasted I've read everything I can/could get my hands on about ratties. That's actually how I found this site! ( YAY!!!) Anyway, I look at Apollo and his coloring and how handsome he is. No, really! Even if he wasn't my rattie I would still think that he would be that handsome. Personally, I think Apollo has always had the most soulful eyes. They just have a tenderness to them. Everytime I look into his eyes I just love him more. Even though day after day I wonder how I could love him more. He has ALWAYS been there for me. He makes me laugh when I'm sad, mad, or just having a bad day. He loves me no matter how many mistakes I make. He follows me EVERYWHERE I go and when I can't take him with me... I am told by Brad how Apollo has sat at the door waiting for my return. Apollo is always the first to greet me when I come home. Doesn't care where I went or how long I was gone... just that I'm back and he missed me just as much as I missed him. He'll sit by the shower till I'm done then licks the water off my legs and feet. Then waits patiently while I dress only to attack me with more kisses. I love this doggie more that I ever thought I could love another ( other than my skin kid or course ) but sometimes even my skin kid thinks I'm just "the meanest mommy." But I'm sure all you skin parents know how that is. Now Emma. Oh goodness where to begin with my little Emma. She is my little DIVA! She has the biggest ratitude for such a little girl. She knows what she wants... of course what girl doesn't. I look at her and think how beautiful she is and how she has made our family even closer. Her little kisses are just so tender and loving. She sleeps with her head on my shoulder every night so she is the last I see at night and the first to kiss me in the mornings. Her little tummy is so warm. She'll play and if she wants to be picked up she'll come to my feet and whimper. I'll pick her up and she'll snuggle herself on my lap. I love to look at her face. Her markings ( to me anyway ) are breath taking. Her paw pads are still so very soft and she lets me play with them as she sleeps. When she jumps she only gets like >< this far off the ground... it's so funny. It's more of a hop than a jump. Hehehehe! Emma and I are still developing our bond. Of course with Apollo it was just he and I home alone all day. So Emma and I are never alone like Apollo and I were. Emma doesn't follow me like Apollo does. But the funny thing is... Apollo follows me and Emma follows Apollo. So the three of us are always together... which is the most important thing anyway.
Anyway my point is this... I love my doggies. This breed is so loyal and loving. I would do anything for my doggies. I love how they are both ratties but their coloring and sizes are soooo different. I'm always telling Brad how we have the BEST of both worlds as far as sizes and colorings go. Sorry this was so long ( hope I didn't bore ya'll to death )but I just love my ratties and I knew ya'll could relate! |

I know how you feel, Jolene. Sometimes the love is just so huge, you have to talk about it to keep from bursting. I wish I could have Bob with me all the time, but I know when I drive up to the house after work I will see Bob sitting on the back of the love seat and watching out the window for me. |

How sweet, Jolene!!! And, I know that Apollo and Emma love YOU just as much You're one of the best doggie mom's I've ever "met". (As are a lot of people here - and doggie dad's too, of course).
I know how you feel, and I think that sometimes y'all are the only one's who really "get" how my Daisy has stolen my heart |

| I have to agree completly. It is amazing to me no matter what these little ones are always right by your side. And always love unconditionally. I get upset with Izzy when she has her accidents and then let her know that i'm dissappointed with her. But she just looks up at me with those eyes. It is hard to feel mad at them then. URGH dogs!! Gotta love them. You know it is funny you say how Apollo will lick your feet and legs when you get out of the shower. Izzy is the same way. She lays right at the door until i open it and then will lick my feet and legs too. Dogs are GURRRate! LOL |

| I know what you mean also. I am lucky that when I go to work Sydney and Sonic get to go with and play at my sister's house with her two dogs at "doggy daycare" which is right across from my work so on my lunch break I can go play with them. i also look at Sonic and think he is quite handsome and Sydney, well, she is our little Queen and she knows it and does not let anyone around here forget it. |

Yea i love my little one (s) too!!! in fact i have been asked who i love more my dog (s) or my husband cuz everyone thinks i love my dog more....but i won't answer that question and just make them both think i love them more than the other one!!! Orvis always licks the shower door when i get out and the floor after i step on it with wet feet! And he follows me too...the other night i was upstairs and orvis went to bed in his house then i went downstairs and a few minutes later here he comes....that happened like 3 times...you could tell he was so tired and wanted to go to bed but being with me was more important They trully are the best |

| Jolene - I totally understand! Even Bill gets a little tired of my endless chatter about the ratties. But I feel the same way about mine that you do about yours - just change the names and some of the little things they do and your story could be mine - or lots of us on here! |

The same goes for my babies too!! They are the world to me- I just love them both so much!!! Some of my friends and even family don't understand my love for my dogs or the love they give me. They think I'm crazy. That's why I love getting on this site & seeing all the others who feel the same for their dogs too. And Jolene I know what you mean about still building your bond with Emma...I have had Caesar for two and a half years before we adopted Julia so of course my bond with him is stronger...but I feel like every day that passes my Julia steals my heart! When I come home they are both there to greet me! Sometimes Caesar still gets a little jealous when I pick up Julia and show her love but he definetly gets his love too!! Don't know what I'd do without them!! |
