hey all...
i just had to share this....
i was going to stay home today to study... is which i should've done... but instead i spent time with my family. There were a couple of campground that were provided for cub scout/boy scout as a family outing day. So we decided to go to the one in Defiance, OH... Camp Lakota.
So i decided to go... it was a beautiful day... up in the 80's... and i thought... it's not often that we do this so i took an advantage of it.
Once we got to camp LaKota.... hubby parked the car and we walked to the admission gate, paid our way in... it was 2 bucks a person! (great deal) and told us... the shooting range is that way, the water way is that way, and something else was that way... and there's a map... well, Owen wanted to go to the shooting range.. so we started heading out that way... we walked.. and walked... and came to this beautiful scenery... it was a stoned drive... with beautiful trees changing colors at this time of the along with the sun shining thru the trees... it was so tranquil..... and i said.... to john, i wish i had my camera. this is so beautiful... and I didn't know that Defiance had a place like this... so secluded from their town.
we finally reached the shooting range... probably after a good mile or so of walking... in those beautiful trails... we waited in line for the bb shooting.. then we decided not to wait there, since there was a long line, So we went on to the archery. line was much shorter... and Owen did well. Then i saw someone walking their puppy... oh maybe lets say 7 months old... cute little thing...and he looks sooooo much like Indy. my black tri!!!! the pup was going thru ear wars.. you can tell, and is very friendly. I wasn't going to say anything b/c my hubby used to tease me or make a comment that i think that every dog is a rat terrier.... so i didn't say anything... then my husband... John, asked.... is that a rat terrier? the guy didn't answer.. was talking to someone.. then after a third time.... john asked again, is that a rat terrier? he said yes! and then went on about his business.... oh i wanted to tell him about rt.com but he seems like one of the guys that kind of brushes you off.. so i let him be... oh well, cute little pup!
then we did alot more walking... went to this fishing area... and the pond was so beautiful, and you see the trees changing colors and the reflection on the pond was like out of a magazine or a postcard... Gorgeous! and walked along this little scary bridge that my son calls the Indiana Jones bridge... that wobbles as you walk on it. I was told that this camp Lakota has over 800 acres full of nature! i'm telling you, it was so beautiful that i would live there!
But all in all.. it was beautiful... and I feel very blessed to have a day like today... and I hope you all will or had this kind of experience.... it was something to be grateful for...
