About 3-4 years ago a champion Whippet (ViVi-I think) ran away from the NYC airport. Does anyone know what happened? I searched it on google and came up with stories dating back to 2006 but couldn't find anything recent. I was watching a dog show on Animal Planet tonight and came in on the tail end of the Whippet that was being shown. They were talking about scarring the dog had gotten from a past event and I wondered if that could have been the dog.

yes. that was in 06.... so sad... never been found. still would love to know what "really" happened. no way that dog would have survived out there.

I remember the story. Whippets are so emotionally sensitive, can't imagine she would have survived long on her own....maybe someone has her.

Thanks for the information. I hoped she might have been the Whippet on the Animal Planet dog show the other night, but I guess not.  I set it to record so I could go back and check when the show re airred, but it went out right before that group came up again...uhg!

I watched that dog show the other night too. They replayed it again immediately and again the next day. I was getting sick of seeing it even though I love dog shows!

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't shown again sometime soon.

This forum does some freaky things at times.

I know what you mean about the dog show. I have seen the SAME dog show 100 times and I keep coming in on the SAME part and missing the part I want to see. Hint: the Whippet dog is not in the last hour.
