but it didn't turn out very well

Since the little boy I am married to left last week, I decided to convert his office space into a playroom for the dogs so they wouldn't have to be crated all day.

I laid out two weewee pads - good thing - but they still left me 4 piles of poop to clean up

And they chewed up the shoe racks that I put against the bookshelf to keep them from getting to that.

So I am going to try it again tomorrow.  This time I put their crates against the bookshelf to keep them away - and I will put down more pads.

Oh - and they just chewed up a marker and there are green streaks all over my sofa.  I am hoping that because it is a water based kid's marker it will come out easily.

Hallways work really well for large "playpens" and are better if the hallway is not carpeted. That's what I do for my girls. That way they aren't cooped up in their crates and can move about and play if they want. I hope your next attempt works better for you!

thankfully this is not carpeted, but darn - the one piece of furniture in there is a bookshelf that I can't move.

I hope 4 pads and crates against the shelf will keep them happy.

The housetraining part is always the hardest. Once they get the hang of it, everything's gravy. We can leave Hendryx to roam the house and he'll be happy with no accidents. We just make sure that he gets his stuff done in the morning. We've taken to leaving the doggy door closed from about 10 to 3. That way Hendryx doesn't get involved with the delivery people or the yard crew.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!
