Radar is my dad's dog, and generally in my dad's eyes Radar can do no wrong (What? Radar didn't steal the left overs, it was the cat!) but even he's admitting Radar's being a BRAT!

Besides just chasing Tobi (the cat) he refuses to let Sophie get to me.  I'll call Sophie over and she's run up and I'll start petting her and Radar comes and knocks her out of the way.  I got really annoyed the other day, so I make him sit-stay and he did... until I called over Sophie and he got up to knock her out of the way! I got so irritated and put him back, but it took three or four times until I could get him to sit while I petted her even once!

Also, apparently he'll gobble up his food and then pluck down , with paw on either side of Sophie's bowl, and eat all of hers-- and growl at Sophie or Tobi (who wants nothign to do with dog food!) if they come near.

You know, when we got a second dog we knew that Radar, who except for occassionally stealing food (which Sophie NEVER does thank you), was basically perfectly behaved, might learn some bad manners from the new dog.  But instead, he's acting like a brat and Sophie is the good one!

He has been through obedience training but it was like five years ago so he obviously needs refreshing... but also he's obviously jealous as jealous can be.  But he gets loved on, lots.  But he's not satisfied with that... he has to be the ONLY one who gets loved on.

Not that he doesn't love Sophie.  He thinks she's awesome... as long as no one is petting her!

I'm trying to take it, partially, as a good sign.  It's him acting much, much younger than he did before we got Sophie, and before we switched to a better food.  But younger in an annoying way! I love him.  We've had him since he was a puppy and he's ten now, so I mean I've had him since I was twelve. I adore him... but he needs to grow up!
