Have/Do any of you wear any "shapewear"? If so, what brands do you recommend? I am in the process of losing my weight, but I still have a ways to go. A friend of mine recommended that I get some shapewear, that it will help me to be able to wear last fall's clothing, (which was all bought brand new last fall, and I can't really see doing AGAIN this fall) until I can actually get back down to that size. (it's only about a size or two different from where I am right now) |

I do have some, but I'll have to go upstairs to see the brand. I bought an awesome little strapless 1 piece dress things. I also have our basic girdle type thing that looks like shorts. I tried Spanx, but they were so tight I could not breathe! |

I have never tried them. They just look too uncomfortable to me. Plus even though they all say you can't even tell someone is wearing them, I can see the line on people thighs where the shapewear ends. Plus if your shirt rides up in the back people would see it there too. Yuck. Just sounds awful to me. I bought bigger clothes instead. |

| Spanx is what the movie stars wear to appear so flat under their evening gowns. I have tried them for one particular outfit and they aren't that bad. |

I only wear them for formalwear. Its not worth it for me in other situations...cant imagine wearing them to work ....and yes I do have spanks. have a co-worker who calls them "fatty panties" and I am not saying that to be offensive...i just think its a funny thing to say...gotta have humor about it right? Sorry i dont have more advice Brandy! Good job on the weight loss and keep it up!!! ((HUGS)) |

| I tried them ONCE....oh my, it was not worth it to me. I felt so confined and uncomfortable, so I just let it all hang out! lol. Im trying to loose my baby weight that I gained during and after my pregnancy. That is what I call it anyway (my daughter will be 8 in November) :-) !!! |

I have spanx too, just wear them under formal wear. Too much trouble the rest of the time. They aren't that uncomfortable, just a little binding. Brandy, just be you til you are where you want to be. Shapewear is uncomfortable to wear all day everyday. |

| I've tried the control panties. My roll of fat around my middle makes the panties roll down. I tried a corset thingie that just went from under the bra line to around the hips, but I found that I like to breath too much to wear it. Now that I'm older, having extra weight is starting to affect my health....blood pressure and cholesterol. So now I'm trying to get healthier, eat healthier, and (gasp) exercise. If I lose weight in the process, then that will be good. I have clothes in all sizes to wear. |

I gave up on that crap long ago (and I'm only 30). They typically just makes the fat pop out somewhere else, and then I feel even fatter than I already am! My sister's friend wears her Spanx EVERY DAY. I think I'd sooner die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still losing the "baby weight." Susanna will be 5 in January. LOL Just how long can I use this excuse?! |

| LOL!! I may try the spanx if I have to dress up, but I think I may just have to suck it in for a little while longer with the rest of my clothes! Of course, I now have the added problem of not being able to button the TOP half of my shirts from Christmas! I knew I had gotten a little bigger but SHEESH...I look a little like a fluzie if I wear my button down shirts now! |

Try this: http://www.ubuyez.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=31 I bought the nude tank and got the pant for some crazy cheap amount and then they sent a set in black too. So, two tanks, two shorts for less than $80. One pair of spanx is $35 at least. Oh - and this is the most comfortable thing ever - no rolling from tall underpants, it is a tank! It covers bra strap lines, rolls, sucks in the tummy. I wear it to work and am still comfortable. Plus, it forces you to stand up straight. I can highly recommend this! |

Oops, I forgot about this thread. I finally went and got the name of my wonder under dress/strapless thingy. It is made by Maidenform and is called Flexee's. I guess it comes in a lot of different shapes. I would only use for dressy occasions. I bought mine cuz I needed a strapless that would stay up and a slip to cover an otherwise very sheer cream colored dress. This one piece thing was the ticket and it sucked me in at the same time. I loved it except when I bent over it started to ride up my thighs a bit....so then I'm so elegantly trying to roll it back down while in a fancy dress. I'm sure the women in the room were saying...yea, she's got a girlde on...look at her pullling at her thighs! |
