Poor Marley!!  I hope he gets better soon.  If your neighbor won't pay the vet bill willingly (which it doesn't sound like they will), take them to small claims court...

Dear President Marley,

While I know your secret service agent did all he could do to protect you, I believe he should have some remedial training  so he can quickly place himself between you and harms way.  It may also require great sacrifices on his part to draw them out of their headquarters to get a bite on a skin-agent so the cops will have a crime to prosecute.  He will, of course need the proper protective gear so you should get this in the budget, we can't have any real harm come to Agent Jamie.

The Palm Bay Rat Pack sends their best wishes for a speedy recovery and hopes of a neighborhood cleanup where you can safely enjoy a relaxing stroll with being in fear of your life.

Mr. President, I am so sorry that bad lady let her dogs loose to attack you and your Special Agent Daddy. What a bad, bad person. Since the skin cops won't do anything maybe your Special Agents should consider calling Animal Control so those bad dogs can be taken off the streets and keep our President safe. The Palm Bay Rat Pack would be willing to serve their President in any way they can. Cutter is little but he is a ferocious little man, Ratty, Cameo and Zip will bite them for you. Cameo will be glad to take them down, she's really good at it. And she is so mad at those doggies.

We all pray for your speed recovery and look forward to seeing you at the next ball you and Lady KS put on, Mr. President. Take care and listen to Mommy and Daddy and the doctor. Please get better soon, Miss Cameo would like to dance with the President of Rattie Land. Kisses to all.

That's why I now carry a dog deterrent spray, really a pepper spray. I had that north african boerboel come at us and I thought Ernie's time was up.

I hope Marley continues to recovery without any problems. That woman needs to seriously pay for her dogs getting loose. I'd want to take the bite for the dog so she could get charged.

I hope that Marley will be okay. Oh, and your neighbor  is one of those idiots who should not be allowed to own pets! And I also think she should pay the bill at the vet for what her dog did.

Oh my dear Marley!  I almost fainted when I saw this topic.  I am so glad you were not injured worse than you were!  My dear, you must take it easy and mind your Mama and Daddy and not overdo!  Oh, I wish I could be there to nurse you through this.  You are a brave, brave doggie.  And thank goodness your Daddy protected you as he did.  If I could get to those dogs, well – they’ve never seen my temper and they don’t want to.  I would bring Dixie with me and we would set those thugs straight!

Oh, I just about need to take to my bed, I’m so upset that you were hurt.

Agent Sonic, perhaps this would be a good time to do undercover work in your rooster suit.  (BTW, I answered your letter today, check the website).

Dear, dear Marley, please know I am thinking of you.

Forever yours,

K.S.

My Dearest Katie Scarlett,

I am recovering very nicely my dear.  My doctor, parents, grandparents, and uncle are taking outstanding care of me.  I am resting, although I find that to be very difficult for such an active rattie as myself.  I was brave, indeed, to save my dear daddy from more than the little scratch he received on his hand. Dearest, please don't worry about this.  Those thugs shall pay for their misdeeds.  It will happen when they least expect it.  I may need to borrow Agent Sonic's rooster disguise for this undercover mission.  I will be assembling a cracker-jack team to invade the compound of the interlopers and lay a few "landmines" where they least expect it.

My dear please focus your energy on the soon to be addition to your family.  Your new baby brother will need you help to adjust to his new home.    You will also be needed to show him how to be a proper rattie.  I understand that your family needs you at this important tme

I remain your most humble and devoted servant,

Marley

Dearest Marley,

My brother won’t be here for a while.  Mama will go next weekend to get him.  Dixie and I will stay home with Daddy so he won’t be lonely.  My family doesn’t need me yet – and I have fretted over you all day!  I am glad you are being cared for by so many loving family members, but I want to be there to hold your paw and rub your head.  You are my dear Marley!

I am glad you are plotting revenge on those delinquent dogs. They give doggiehood a bad name.  Nora, I can just see you luring those bad bad dogs to the land mines.  Tee hee, I would like to help!  Do you think we would have any problems with understanding each other - you with your New York accent and me with my southern belle accent?

Marley dearest, take the weekend to rest easy.

Love,

K.S.

President Marley,

My brother Eddie Ratbone also has a rooster costume (and I am sure that Target is still stocking them at this time) so my thought was to assemble a flock of roosters and launch an attack on those deliquent doggies! I believe a half dozen ratties in rooster costumes would be distracting to the point of where we could take em down and hog tie 'em into submission! What say ye all?

Some of us lovely ladies on this site could also pull our ball gowns out of moth balls and create a diversion for the rooster brigade.

Yours truly,
Recon Daisey

That's why a lot of the people I see out walking in my town are carrying big sticks or canes, I guess. In case they need protection from other animals or people.

I'm sorry Marley was attacked. I hope he recovers quickly. It's very annoying to have your dog under control and then be yelled at by some jerk who allows their dog to roam the streets causing harm to others.

When I was fostering and walking from one end of town to the other, I carried a thick wooden dowel and would use it to defend myself and the foster against the dogs who came charging out into the street after us. Usually the owner would be standing in the yard watching, or worse, would just come to the front door and yell at their dog, who paid absolutely no attention. Normally it would take me threatening to call the police before the owner would actually come and get their dog.

That's my baby girl, Bijou! She's a Toy Rat Terrier.

"I believe a half dozen ratties in rooster costumes would be distracting to the point of where we could take em down and hog tie 'em into submission! What say ye all?"

I volunteer Radar as head Rooster!  He is so tall (I can walk under him without ducking... and I'm a standard-- though a dainty small one.)  I think he would round off the rooster brigrade nicely.

Mr. President,

I am so sorry this happened to you!

It just goes to show that other dogs envy what we have in Rattie land.  They tried to take you down because they wish they had such benevolent leaders and parents that give us nice chew toys and belly rubs.  In a way, I feel sorry for them... but I still think they should be incarcerated or, better yet, rehabilitated.  To be left with that awful woman will only make them worse canine citizens.  For shame!

I am glad, though, that you are relatively well and will be able to continue your office as President.  And I am glad your Daddy was basically unscathed-- except of course the emotional trauma of seeing you attacked for no good reason! Dirty rotten dog! (Not you of course)  Daddys are nice things, aren't they?  I'm beginning to get to know mine... well, he's really my mommy's daddy, but he's the only human man in the house.  Radar adores him.  I don't really see why, though he's nice, he's nothing compared to my Mommy... but I also hate Radar getting lots of Mommy's attention so I guess it's okay he likes Daddy better...

I'm rambling.  That's not good in a Presidential letter!  Good thing I'm not the President I guess...

Dear President Marley,

I've been ask by a couple citizens of Rattieland to request that you post a current photo of yourself to ensure everyone that our President is alive and well. Not that we doubt you are alive and well, but that is customary after such a brutal attack and we need to let the citizens of "out there" know that our leader is strong, in control, and leading our community. Please let's dispell any rumors of instability in Rattieland and show the bad guys a photo of our strong, fearless, and resilient leader.

Our President attacked?!?! Not acceptable!!!! I know you said the health department said nothing could be done but what about the local animal controil? Seems to me like that dog who bit the president should at least be quarantined for a few days.

I have not been on in a while and seen Marley's pics so hunted through Just Chat to catch what happened.   Sounds like Marley's dad did everything right. When we first got Fred a group of Bull Terriers tried to "jump" him. Guy picked him right up as they charged and kicked one of them to get him away. The owner came out screaming at Guy for kicking his dog, well that didn't lead to a good place but we never had a problem thereafter and actually they moved. You would be amazed how many dogs aren't fenced or leashed by us because their owners "trust them". I try to be very alert on our walks and go to the streets where I know the dogs are fenced good. Pepper spray is a good idea but I am afraid our dogs would smell it to and be affected. Your close to me too I think, Ohio needs to pass some laws about this..........

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

I did PM you about your question. You can also carry a spray bottle of amonia. When the dogs do get close you can spray them with it. They dont like the smell and maybe next time they'll think twice about it. Also if she she was cited then hopefully she gets the message. If she was cited under state code it should be minimum of $100 for "dog at large".
