Well, it's been a little over 2 weeks and he is still hurting. He has not been back to work yet and I notice Fred and Alice being more clingy to him since he is now home all day with them! We go to the doctor today at 1:00 to see how everything is and if he should still be having this much pain. I hope it's normal and that he is recovering and healing. We will find out. He is really bummed out. Just laying around and not working is not his thing at all and he is getting really depressed. I feel so bad for him and I hope he is back to normal before to long.

Back problems are the worst. And it can take awhile to heal up after surgery, my father was sore for quite some time. They do want you to get up and moving as much as possible though, I couldn't imagine!! Hope it's just normal healing, keep us posted!

I was just thinking about you guys the other day. I figured I must have missed an update. So sorry that he is still hurting so much. How long has it been? Hopefull the doc will have good news today. Yaz has been so confused with all the goings on with Jenna at our house. Poor puppies. They can't stand to see any of us in pain.

Gosh, sure hope he gets some good news at the doctors today. Back pain is such a tough issue to deal with...my husband suffers from sciatic nerve problems with his back....and it is brutal.... Sure hope Guy improves and his back is pain free soon.....

I hope he gets some good news from the doctor today. When hubby had his back surgery three years ago... it was several weeks before he felt any relief. He wore a back brace for two months following the surgery.

LOL, yeah like 2 weeks ago. He had a fragmented disc and scar tissue on his nerve. He likes being home with them but he says they just stare at him all day LOL. He tried to play with them but when he turned to throw their stuffed animal he said there was a sharp pain so he just screamed like a girl for 10 minutes and crawled back to the air mattress, they then just stared at him some more!!   He misses work, he is one of those people. I don't have that problem.

I have learned that it takes much longer to heal than we think it should. Two weeks is not that long -- but I understand how he feels. It has taken Randy a long time to feel better from his back injury and it is taking a long time for my shoulder. Patience is a hard thing to learn, but I have finally gotten the message that we have no other choice! I do hope he gets a good report from the doctor. Keep us updated.

Well yesterday the dr said 2 more weeks off work for him. He is not ready to go back yet because he still winces when he has to twist or bend. I know he is not happy about it but his boss and company are so understanding. They told him they dont' want him back til he is better. Fred and Alice are getting so spoiled having someone home all day with them, it's been about a month now!! Luckily I have Friday and Monday off so I can be home with them all.

The doctor has really bad bedside manner so he didn't say either way. Guy is having pain in his leg and achillies tendon which the dr did not like. He has to start doing some slow stretches and he put him on a nerve medication to see if that will help some of the pain too. I know you understard Amy how hard it is to not be able to help someone you love get better.

Did the Dr recommend physical therapy? usually they do with back patients. They get so tight so easily. Hope it heals up soon.

Poor baby! I can only imagine how much pain he is in. But if the Doc says do some light stretching is sounds like he is on the mend. Good thoughts being sent your way!!!

Doc said no physical therepy yet, maybe in a couple weeks only because he is not ready for that yet. In the meantime real light stretching is all he said and only his legs because that is where he is getting a lot of pain. Did I mention how I miss the house to myself anymore!! I used to have 2 hours before work to clean up and drink my coffee alone and then when I came home at least an hour to get dinner ready, walk the dogs and all that. I have ZERO me time now!!

I am going through the same thing right now with my boyfriend Brandon, he decided to go mountain biking on Labor Day and with in 5 min. he had gone over the handle bars and tore his rotary cuff. Oh and this is the second time he has done this in three years! At least it wasnt the same one because that would have ment he would have to have sugery. So on my day off I spent 4 hours in the ER, had to take off work Tues. to get him to his regular doctor to do more X-rays and MRIs. And now he is all depressed about missing so much work! I would be more than happy to miss a week of work! Oh AND....This is the second time in less than two weeks Ive been in the ER with him (he decided that he didnt want to wear his saftey glasses while he was taking a window out and got a metal in his eye!)
