My poor Mocha Mickey Budda Belly Muckalucka! I got home on Thursday and noticed he had this little swelling under his chin. It almost looked like a sack of something hanging there. It was NOT there in the morning when I left, and I couldn't see a bite or wound, so I really had no idea how or why this happened!
I woke up on Friday, and poor Mickey looked like he had a cheek full of chewing tabacco stuffed in his lower right jaw!! OMG! His little face was so swollen!! But he kept his cheerful disposition and insisted on pestering the other dogs to do rat runs and play...
I brought him into my vet, and they did x-rays, bloodwork and a needle aspirate. No broken jaw. Nothing to indicate an abscess. My vet was baffled! They put him on antibiotics, which have reduced the swelling a little, but he's still swollen there. Cuz of the long weekend, I haven't heard any results on the aspirate and I'm DYING HERE!!
That poor little man. He's such a trooper for the stuff he's been through!

| poor baby... wonder what it is? maybe just a hard hit.. bruise with swelling? does it hurt him to the touch? let us know. |

Wow, sorry to hear about this....poor little pup.....my immediate thought when I read it was that it was an absessed tooth.... Hopefully you will get some answers soon.....and the meds kick in and greatly diminish his pain and swelling.....

No brusing but definitely swelling and pain. He's eating OK, but I can tell his yawns are very little and he hasn't been barking as much as normal... it's a mystery!!
Think I'm going to call right now to find out what the deal is. This is WAY too long to wait for a biopsy result! |

OMG poor thing. My parents neighbors have a lab that keeps getting a cyst on the side of her face. The vet drains it and days later it's back. Hers is just what you described on Mickey. Looks like a big ole wadd of tobacco. |

Hi Monica,
He's doing fine, except for that swelling. He paws at it and sometimes cries, so I know it's painful, but he's a trooper and he's still his playful, lovable self.  |

I had left my camera at work - I took it with me last Thursday to download pix and videos, and forgot it here and I just got back to work yesterday. The swelling has subsided quite a bit since Friday but there's still a little bit.
What's buggin me is that I don't have any results from his BIOPSY YET! Argh!!!!!!!!! Dang long weekend!!!!!!!!!! |
