I had my camera in my pocket today at school, so I could snap pics of the kids as they move through their first week. I was in the bathroom and it fell out of my pocket ... into the toilet. Now it won't turn on. My first really great digital camear and I only had it for 3 months and I had to go and do something stupid with it! I'm hoping it can be repaired, because I can't afford another. This was a gift. I actually had to stay in the bathroom for an extra minute because I thought I was going to cry! I really, really hope it can be fixed! I use it every day at school -- not to mention almost daily with Lola!

Sounds like a Seinfeld episode!! Hope it dries out and is OK! My camera fell about 3 stories out of a window and onto a roof below and it still works .... have hope yours will too!

My husband did that with his cell phone....prior to flushing.....ewwww.....it eventually worked after it dried out....He traded it in though....I would have too!!

Open up everything on it you can and set it in a dry place where the water can drain. Take the battery out as well. Many times, these things will surprise you. Here's some good thought for you, too!

If the person that bought it for you paid by using a Visa it may be insured, keep it in mind in case it doesn't come back to life, I hope it does

Oh how awful. I did that to TWO cell phones. Der. Didn't learn the first time. Now I NEVER put anything electronic in my pockets. One thing I learned is don't try to turn it on to soon. As someone(can't remember who, sorry)said before me, take it ALL apart to dry. Good luck sweetie.

I hope it works... let it dry out... for several days... I've done that before, though not to a camera, and if you let it dry out for DAYS then it usually works.... In the future, if it happens again, don't even try for days, because sometimes trying to turn it on when it's wet is what it kills it, not actually the dropping it. Good luck!

Dont beat yourself up I dropped my cell phone in the toilet. It wouldnt work though so I had to pay to get another one I hope yours can be fixed Good luck

A friend bought me a bracelet with a magnetic clasp and it fell in the toilet at a restaurant. I was just glad I had not sat down yet.

Maybe if you put in a ziploc baggy with uncooked rice. The rice absorbs moisture. I read that people do this with electronic equipment (phones, ipods). We do it with salt in the summer and it keeps from clumping and sticking.
