We are back from the vet. They had to lance open the area from the abcess. She came home with antibotics, pain meds and the dreaded E-Collar. She is not happy with the vet or me at all. Pictures this afternoon.

Michelle: I'm sure I missed something (or forgot) which isn't unusual for me lately. I'm sorry to hear Sydney is less than thrilled with today's outing to the vet. But it sounds like it absolutely had to be done and will have her feeling much better, much sooner Our Smokey cat had a nast abscess once - YUCK!!!! I felt just awful because I didn't notice it until it was huge

OUCH!! poor baby! I hope it gets cleared up soon and she can get rid of that nasty e-collar. I had a dog who had an abscess on his back/neck area...we didn't notice it until it burst...he had really thick hair right there. BUT he had gone to the vet for something else a few days before that and since he had a fever, the vet gave him antibiotics to clear up "whatever infection he might have." I got the fun job of draining his abscess...I'll never forget that!

Ohh poor Syndney, I can just imagine how the e collar is going over. Send her Get Well Wishes From Fred and Alice!! I have to go find the pics now..............
