I just got home from "Mom's Weekend" at Little MB's camp. WOW. What a great time!
I never anticipated it would be such a wonderful weekend - especially since the forecast was for three days of thunderstorms and it only rained as I was leaving. We spent two nights in a tent together, giggling and snuggling. We did "Dress Up Aerobics" with her cabin and I got to participate in all her activities with her.
When we met in her cabin at night for "cabin chat" I was surprised to learn that the highlight of the day for her of our first day together was the fact that I knew the words to "Today" by John Denver. I didn't know I knew them either, but at the "goodnight circle" where all the girls at camp gathered and held hands, they started singing it and it just flowed from the inner recesses of my childhood right out - and she looked up at me with these eyes that made me cry right there and then.
Needless to say, I am exhausted. I did give the horse that bit her last week the evil eye, and I will say the bite is so much better than I had expected.
I had the best weekend ever with my daughter and I can't wait to do it all over again... |
