Last night, we noticed Sydney had a lump by her butt.  It did not seem to bother her so I told Mike we would just watch it and call the vet on Monday to go in once again.  Today arund noon, the bump opened up, pus came out along with some blood.  I called the vet immediately and she said is the sore next to her anus.  I said yes.  She said Sydney had a blocked anal gland that bursted.  I have to apply warm was cloths and let her sit in a warm bath (at least that is not a problem since she likes water) and tomorrow morning take her in to get it flushed out and start on antibotics.  She is fine otherwise.   I feel so bad for not noticing it before and making her wait.

She did yesterday and thats what made me think to look at her butt.  She acting fine however and loves  her soaking time in the tub.  However it is hard to get her to just sit when Sonic is in and out playing in the water.

At least it's something treatable. What would you have done if you had KNOWN it was a blocked anal gland?

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

Ouch, but at least it has drained some. That has got to feel some better. I would be in a world of trouble trying to get Amos to soak his Anus in a tub of water. lol
