I've had the same I.D. badge here at the library since 1996 or so.  It's not very attractive, but I like it because it shows me at 12 years and 35 pounds lighter.

We now have new badge reader thingies at our doors, so we have to get new badges with some kind of magic sensor in it that will unlock the door when we wave the badge in front of it.  So I have to go get a new badge picture taken.

Does anyone like their I.D. badge picture?  Should we start a thread in the Photos section and see who has the worst picture?

In my current badge picture, I had a different hairdo than what I have now. It looks like I have a five or six head instead of just a forehead. It also looks like they used a fish-eye lens and my nose is huge while the rest of my face is small.

We had id photo badges made a couple of years ago, and they are so bad, nobody wears them. I have mine hanging on my radio antenna on my desk. The photographer used a room with an open window for the place to set up the photo sessions, and the light coming in from behind makes everyone have a ghostly glow about them and everyone that has a badge looks like they either have blonde or white hair, because of the bright light that was streaming in from behind.

LOL, I HATE mine Pam!! Mine has a green cast to it so I look as though i have a stomach bug. Not a pretty pic. And the lady was like, "oh that is a great one!" Ummm, yeah, not so much LIAR! I don't have a scanner or I would share the horror with you all.

Hubby's and oldest son's drivers license photos look like mug shots. Scary!

When I came back from last summer at school (just graduated in May) they had switched to a new system. My old ID I looked GOOD. I had my hair swept around my shoulder, I had a pretty smile, it was the best ID pic ever...
But in the new one I had to get they used one of those fish eye lens and I had a HUGE nose.
And the most irritating part is I'd show it to people and they'd look at it (and not me) and say "oh, it's not so bad". And I said "Look at me" and they would... and then look at it again... and say "Whoa, your nose is NOT that big"...
But they NEVER noticed the first time!

Yup - badge pics are like DL pics... no one I know has a GOOD one.

My pic is awesome... both eyes are open and I'm not smiling and not pissed looking, but do have a wierd look in my eye.  I'm told that's my NORMAL look.  gads.

Funny story about DL pictures. When I was MUCH younger, I had a really good DL picture. While I was at work one day, I put my DL in my scrub pocket, as I had to run to the store for something. Anyway, I forgot my DL IN my scrubs and when i changed out of the scrubs at the end of my shift, my DL got sent out in the laundry. There was some guy with the linen service who called my work place to find out what shift I worked because he wanted to return my DL PERSONALLY. The employees at work gave me the heads up that I had a potential stalker. He called me at work to make sure that I was there and then asked me if I'd be interested in meeting up AFTER work that night! I was totally floored, and flustered over this! I told him that I was married and I really appreciated him going to all that trouble to return my license, but that I was NOT interested. He finally gave me my license, but I was worried that he was gonna wait in the parking lot for me. I made security walk me out that night. I never heard from him again, so I guess he really was just looking for a date, but it was really weird.

In PA they started using digital cameras about 4 years ago or so. When they take your DL picture, they show it to you and ask if you like it (at least around here they do). If you don't, they delete it and take another. I consider that nice. Of course I"m usually 4-weeks overdue for a haircut when I go for my renewal. If I were 40 pounds lighter I'd look like Dr. Zorba with a bald patch from the ancient Ben Casey TV show.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

Wow, that's nice of them. Here they use digital as well, but they don't even tell you when they're taking the pic. You go and stand there and they say something like "In the count of three" or something, but then don't count so you're not really sure when the pic is taken until it's taken. Sigh.
