I am very excited about this.

Taffy has been doing so well and is opening up more and more, however I didn’t realize just how relaxed she has become in our pack until last night.

Every since she arrived, she has always slept curled up in a little ball even when in the bed. Aka tends to be all over me when we sleep. If he isn’t touching me in some way then he wakes up and moves or wakes me up! Taffy, however, began by sleeping on top of the covers near us; then she moved to sleeping against me.

Even when sitting with Aka and I in the recliner she would sleep on her stomach. Well, last night while they were asleep in my lap, Taffy turned over and stretched and then just stayed deeply asleep with her belly exposed and her legs up in the air. She was deeply asleep and totally relaxed and it hit me that this was the first time she has ever done this. Then last night she slept near us and almost on top of Aka at times! I got up once during the night and she had again turned over and both she and Aka were on their backs, legs up, heads tossed back snoring their little hearts out.

That was when I realized that Taffy has really become comfortable and feels safe and that this is “home”. It took everything in me not to scoop her up and hug her but I just gently rubbed her belly and then Aka’s and rolled over on my wee strip of the bed that they allow me to have and just smiled myself to sleep.

That's great news Cheryl. And I know what you mean about your strip of the bed. I only have Bailey with me but most of the time I wake up and I'm on the edge with Bailey stretched out beside me on the queen size bed.

awww how sweet Cheryl!
Toa has always been one to sleep on his back...but he has recently started making sure hes culed up and touching me or Trixi or usually both! also, he now scratched at the couch to get up here and snuggle with me instead of sleeping on the floor...this has just been the past two days...i love having trixi in my lap and Toa right next to me!!

That's cool!  Glad she is settling in.  She may be learning her behaviors from the other pups?  Anyway, it's a mixed blessing having the furry ones in the bed... it's nice that they snuggle, but Murphy gets right between my wife and I.  It's... a problem.  He gets crated on some nights... just for a while.
