My aunt invited Guy and I over for dinner tonight. I do not get to visit with my Aunt Nancy all that much and am really looking forward to it. HOWEVER, I feel SO guilty that Fred and Alice have been home all day while we were at work then we are going to be home for an hour and leave again for a good part of the night. I feel like such a bad mommy on nights like this, like it's so unfair to them.  Guy says I can't just sit home everynight so I dont' feel guilty and I guess he's right BUT THE GUILT..........................

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

I feel the same way especially on a day when I've worked all day and then go somewhere at night.

I have to run out and get in my car ASAP, if i hear a whine, im willing to stay home all day. I try to "plan around it" and plan evening outings on days that she was only in the crate for a few hours. The longest she's ever been in a crate is 5 hours and i freak once it starts getting to that point lol... i try to remind myself that others keep their dogs in crates for 8 hours and don't have issues..

We were away for a week. I had a meeting in Boston and Reeva went with me so we put Hendryx in the kennel. He really hates the kennel. We have him back now, and he even came out from under the toilet before the thunder was quite over. We'll be taking him with us when we go to the lake house for a week.

His name is Hendryx! He's a rat terrier! OK!

i hate not taking mine places too. we are going away to atlanta for the 4th weekend, and we are kenneling them. i just tell myself that they have no idea what is going on, and dogs really have no concept of time so it upsets us much more than them.
