After a couple time luring Fred through the door with pieces of roast he totally got how to use the dog door. It was tricky with Alice, she kept wanting to use her paws and then it would go shut and she would just stand there. Finally with Fred going through she would hurry and go right behind him when the flap was open. Well one time it hit her head and she realized it didn't hurt!! Then she used her head and now they just go right in and out whenever they want!! I am so happy!!

I was wondering, because they use their head and that flap rubs you think it will create bald spots??

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

Ya know what's funny is we usually know where they are, last night a couple time it was like "where are the dogs?"  one would be out and one in, never really knew where they were!! When night comes dog door gets locked though, just cause I don't want them running out after skunks!!

Has anything ever got IN any of  you dog doors, other than your dogs??

We have a cat door in the basement. Since the food dish is also in the basement, I'm sure all the other cats in the neighborhood know where they can go and get a quick bite to eat.

Never leave it open overnight? Anything can get in and I knew a family a few miles from here, where a skunk got in. Their dog went after it and it sprayed all over the house. Remember it is a doggie dor.....LOL. Another funny one about the husband who didn't come home for dinner because he was at the ginmill with his buddies. Wife locked him out - he didn't have his key so crawled in the doddie door!

I have a friend whose 2 year old son got stuck in their cat door. They had to call the fire department to get him out. This was a challenging child to raise.

I've had a stray dog and cat come through mine. The funny to me is my cats (mostly Bobbit) will go up the hill to my neahbors and use his doggie dog. One am he woke up and Bobbit was sleeping with his twins. Also when we go up and visit Noodles goes in the doggie door to find the girls if they are not outside.

There is no joy greater than being owned by a Rattie!!

We once had 2 cats that learned to use the doggy door. Their kitty litter box was in the utility room so we put the doggy door on the door between the kitchen and utility room. My female calico was a little on the plump side. :0 So "Furface" our siamese male would bite her on her backside (she would get stuck and it took her a little bit longer to go through the door). She would get so mad. It was too funny!
